.....We have a never ending stream of dogs who need eye surgery and the 4 above are the latest waiting to see if anything can be done to help them. The initial cost to see if a dog is eligible for surgery can be between £80-£120 and we have two specialist vets who do cataract operations which can cost around £2000 if we have both eyes done and £1800 if we have just one. This does not include the cost of the drugs so you can see it is an expensive gift to give a dog.
.....Ex-breeding dogs have usually never left the breeders before and the transition to becoming a pet dog is a huge adjustment for any dog to make but for the dogs that cannot see it is much more confusing and they can really struggle - so it is so important to help them by giving them the Gift of Sight if we can.
.....We have already helped many dogs gain the Gift of Sight and have other eye operations.
