Igloo really is the sweetest of souls, yet unfortunately she struggles to get so much as a second glance on our group tours, sadly we imagine that’s due to her breed and aesthetic, but give this girl even one minute of your time and you will completely fall in love with the most beautiful of temperaments.
She arrived a scared girl who has clearly never had much love, but as the weeks have passed, the dog that was initially so wary of us has faded away and become the most confident and loving of girls. She has progressed so much that we actually had to do a complete overhaul of her online write-up because she’s just done THAT well!
Igloo adores people now, she will smother you with love the instant you enter her kennel and although she likes to jump up for attention, she is generally really gentle. As she has developed so much in confidence, she can now be an only dog too, as well as being great with other dogs so she could live happily in a variety of situations, with dogs or without!
She has learned to walk on a lead here and really enjoys her walks now too, she’s keenly started exploring her playful side and we have found that she absolutely loves tennis balls, something she previously wouldn’t have encountered and it’s adorable to watch her having fun finally!
In regards to children, despite likely never meeting any, we do believe that she’d be great around them if they are of the age to handle a bit of jumping up and her relatively heavy paws, so older children who have experience around similar dogs are preferred.
You may notice in a couple of the pictures that Igloo has a slightly larger paw (right fore) than the others and this is because she had a nasty infection on arrival which meant her paw was incredibly swollen, as this has healed, the tissue that has formed has caused her paw to remain larger than normal. It may always remain larger than usual and can cause her to limp occasionally
Please don’t let this girl get overlooked any longer, she is a real gem and she WILL brighten up many people’s lives if given the opportunity.

Meet Igloo, a truly beautiful soul who has come to us from a breeder to find the loving home she’s always deserved. When she first arrived, Igloo was a quiet and timid girl, understandably overwhelmed by the world around her. She’d clearly known very little kindness, but from the very start, there was a gentle spark of curiosity in her - a glimmer of hope that, with time and love, she could begin to trust. And what a transformation she’s made!
The shy girl who once kept her distance is now full of love and affection. Igloo adores people and she’ll smother you with cuddles the moment you walk into her kennel, and though she sometimes jumps up in excitement, she remains incredibly gentle and sweet natured.
She’s now so confident that she could be homed as an only dog in the right circumstances with adopters who had plenty of time to spend with her. She could also happily live with other kind and friendly dogs too. She would benefit from adopters who have experience of the breed and we would consider homing her with dog savvy teenagers. She has met cats here and been fine with them, so may be able to live with a dog savvy cat.
Igloo has also discovered the joys of play, particularly with her beloved tennis balls, and it's truly heartwarming to watch her finally experience fun and freedom. She has learned to walk on a lead here at the rescue and enjoys her outings, especially in quiet areas where she can explore at her own pace.
Igloo has never lived in a home before, so everything will be new to her, from house training to household noises and her adopters will need to be kind and understanding as she settles in.
When Igloo arrived, she had a nasty infection in her paw, which has since healed, though the affected paw (her front right paw) remains slightly larger than her others. It may always remain larger than average and does cause her a slight limp, but it doesn’t stop her from enjoying life. This will continue to be be monitored by our vet.
Igloo is a dog who gets overlooked all too easily on our group tours, but give her just a moment of your time, and you’ll fall in love with her gentle, affectionate spirit. She truly is a hidden gem, ready to shine in the right home.
Please don’t pass her by, Igloo has come so far, and she’s more than ready for the next step in her journey: a forever home filled with kindness, patience, and love.

Igloo is a sweet and gentle girl who has come to us from a breeder. Understandably, she’s feeling a little overwhelmed at the moment and is quietly taking in her new surroundings. Despite her worries, there’s a curious spark in her, she’s already showing signs of wanting to connect and with time and kindness, we know she’ll begin to blossom.
Igloo currently has a sore on her paw that is being closely monitored and treated by our vets. It’s causing her some discomfort, but we’re hopeful that with continued care, she’ll soon be back to feeling her best.
She will need a calm and quiet adult-only home with experienced adopters who can give her the time and gentle encouragement she needs to settle in. As she’s never lived in a home before, everything will be new to her, from house training to household noises, so patience and understanding will be key.Igloo doesn’t yet walk on a lead, but she is showing an inquisitive side and will approach for a fuss, which is a wonderful sign of the lovely girl she’s becoming. She’s ready to start her journey towards a brighter future and would thrive in a loving home where she can feel safe and truly begin to trust.
