Gentle

29-04-25 Gentle by name and gentle in every way, this precious girl has already found a place in the hearts of everyone who’s met her. When she arrived with us, she was heartbreakingly thin at just 16kg, with bald patches on her body and painful sores from lying on cold, hard ground. It was clear she had known only neglect, but even more remarkable was her quiet strength and the glimmer of hope still in her eyes.
Now in a loving foster home, Gentle is slowly learning that life doesn’t have to be so hard. She’s gained weight and is now a much healthier 20.5kg. Her coat is growing back, her sores are healing, and most importantly her sweet and gentle personality is beginning to shine through.
Despite everything she’s endured, Gentle has been nothing but kind, patient and loving. She settled into her foster home with surprising ease, and we believe she may have lived in a home before as she is clean indoors and unfazed by the everyday sounds of family life. Gentle is comfortable on a lead, but can be stubborn when walking. Her mummy is currently working with her on this, and she will need continued encouragements to build her confidence. However, she loves going to the beach and loves to explore!
Gentle leans on the company of other dogs to help her feel safe, and she truly comes alive in their presence. She will need at least one gentle and confident resident dog in her new home to help her continue to blossom and discover joy. She could also live with kind, dog-savvy children who will give her the space and time she needs to feel secure.
Gentle has survived so much, and yet she holds no bitterness, only a quiet longing to be loved. She is ready now for a forever home where she will never be overlooked again, and where she can spend her days wrapped in warmth, kindness, and love.
