01-05-25 Rillie is the most adorable and beautiful Pembrokeshire Corgi who originally came to us from a breeder. She was very briefly adopted but has been returned through no fault of her own as the resident dog would not accept her. Rillie has gone straight back to her original foster home, where she has settled back in well and does not seem phased by this change.
Rillie is a beautiful, sweet and gentle soul who gets on very well with the resident dogs in her foster home who are all small breeds.
Rillie is adjusting to home life well and is now clean in the house, but may need some reminders in her new home. She walks perfectly at an easy pace on a harness and lead. She sometimes needs some encouragement but once she goes she loves it. Rillie was a little overweight when she originally came into foster - which is particularly bad for this breed. So she has been on controlled measured diet and on 2 short 20 minute walks a day to help build a healthy muscle tone. Rillie would not suit an active family. She would be best suited to an adult home but would consider homing her with dog savvy older children in the right circumstances.
Rillie will need a confident, well behaved and socialised, calm yet playful resident dog. This dog must not show dominant traits or be too energetic. Experience of Corgis and their traits would be a massive benefit. A must is an understanding of the grooming requirements of a double coat.
Rillie has started initiating play with the resident dogs in her foster home, but her favourite thing is to lie in the sun with the dogs and do rolling on her back with her legs in the air.
