Artessa

04-05-25 Beautiful Artessa has come to us from a breeder to find her forever home, but at the moment, she is a very frightened little lady who is completely overwhelmed by her new surroundings. She doesn’t yet understand that people can be kind and is very worried and overwhelmed to find herself here.
Artessa will grumble when approached, this is just out of fear as a way of expressing how unsure and worried she feels. She doesn’t escalate beyond that, but it’s clear that right now, she’s simply just so worried about our presence and in desperate need of kindness and TLC.
Artessa will be looking for a calm and quiet, adult only home with no visiting children and with adopters who have experience with scared ex-breeding dogs. She will absolutely need at least one kind and confident resident dog to take her under their wing and help guide her gently through this next chapter.
Artessa has never lived in a home before, so everything will be new and strange to her. Her adopters will need to be patient and gentle as she adjusts to home life and learns new skills like house training. She’s also never walked on a lead before, so will need plenty of time to settle in and begin practicing in the safety of a secure garden before venturing any further.
Artessa’s journey won’t be quick, but with the right home, she has a chance to finally discover what love, safety, and kindness truly feel like. If you have a peaceful home, a patient heart, and the understanding to help a terrified dog slowly learn to trust, Artessa could be the one who needs you most.
