  • Human family requirements

I could be homed with dog savvy children or teenagers who understand I may need time.

  • Other pet requirements

I am currently living with dogs & cats, and would like at least one resident dog.

  • House and garden requirements

I would love a garden where I can run and play!

  • Out and about requirements

I am learning to walk on a lead and would enjoy one or two walks a day!

  • Training needs

I have never lived in a home so I will need help to learn house training.

  • Medical issues

I have a microphthalmic left eye & an old injury on my right eye lid, read more below

Rainbow is a gentle 15-month-old Cavachon who came to us from a breeder, unsure and overwhelmed but quietly hopeful. In the beginning, she would gently wag her tail, clearly wanting to make friends but lacking the confidence to take that first step. She found great comfort in the company of her kennel mates and it was clear she would need a kind, patient home, ideally with a confident resident dog to help her find her feet.

Fast forward to two weeks in foster, and Rainbow has blossomed into a sweet, affectionate, and playful little girl who charms everyone she meets! Weighing just 5kg, she’s easy to handle and adores cuddles. She's formed lovely bonds not only with the other dogs in her foster home but also with the resident cat and her foster family’s three great-grandchildren (ages 4, 5, and 9).

Rainbow eats and sleeps well, happily settling in downstairs with the rest of the pack. She has learned to walk on a lead and now has excellent recall, she just wants to be close to her humans and part of the action.

She does have microphthalmia in her left eye, which means she’s blind on that side, but it doesn’t affect her day-to-day life at all and does not affect her right eye. In fact, her foster family only discovered it when the vet mentioned it during her second vaccination. Although her right eyelid also shows signs of an old injury, it causes her no discomfort and is not related to the microphthalmia in the left eye. She has a valid travel document and is in good overall health.

Rainbow would love a home with at least one other dog of a similar size to play and snuggle with, and she could live with dog-savvy older children or teenagers who understand she may still need some space at times. As she's still discovering what it means to live in a home, she’ll need gentle guidance with house training and adjusting to new surroundings, but she’s already made amazing progress.

Rainbow has come such a long way in a short time. With continued love, patience, and companionship, she’s ready to shine in her forever home. Please don’t let her wait too long, this little soul has so much love to give

Rainbow's Diary

  • Rainbow is a 15-month-old Cavachon who has been in foster care for two weeks and she’s an absolute sweetheart!

She’s very easy to handle, loves her cuddles, and is a confident little girl, weighing just 5kg. Rainbow gets along wonderfully with the other dogs in her foster home and has also done brilliantly with her foster family's three great-grandchildren (ages 4, 5, and 9), as well as the resident cat.

She eats well, sleeps peacefully downstairs with the other dogs, and has settled in beautifully.

Rainbow has microphthalmia in her left eye, which means she’s blind in that eye but it doesn’t affect her one bit. In fact, her foster family only discovered the blindness when the vet pointed it out during her second vaccination.

She’s a playful, affectionate pup who would thrive in a home with at least one other dog of a similar size to snuggle and play with. She’s now walking well on a lead, has excellent recall, and just wants to be close to her humans.

Rainbow will make a lovely, loyal family companion.

  • Rainbow is a gentle soul who has come to us from a breeder in search of her forever home. She’s a sweet little girl who will wag her tail gently when she sees you, quietly showing how much she wants to be your friend. Although she desperately wants to make friends, she is a little overwhelmed to find herself here and she will need plenty of love, patience, and kindness as she begins to find her confidence.

Rainbow finds great comfort in the company of her kennel friends and is happiest around other dogs. Because of this, she’ll be looking for a home with a kind and confident resident dog who will be her new best friend. We would consider homing her with dog savvy older teenagers who understand that she may need time and space to come out of her shell.

As Rainbow has never lived in a home before, everything will be new to her. She will need gentle support as she learns about home life and picks up important skills like house training. She will also need to learn all about walking on a lead and harness.

With love and kindness, we think she is going to blossom into the most wonderful girl, so please don't leave her waiting.

Rainbow's left eye is microphthalmia and currently a little inflamed, so she is receiving treatment. Her right eyelid also has an old injury, though it doesn’t seem to cause her any discomfort.
