Venus

18-05-25 Venus is a very scared girl who has come to us from a breeder. She runs and hides when she sees us approaching so will need an adult only home where there is at least one other dog who is very kind and who will allow her to cuddle up to them for comfort and support if she wants to. Venus can grumble a little when we pick her up but this is purely out of fear as she has no idea that hands can be kind so we will gradually get her used to this.
Venus will need a secure garden as she is a flight risk at the moment but with adopters who have plenty of time, love and patience she will come round and they will be rewarded by seeing her transform into the loving girl we are sure is hiding under all her bichon curls. She will need regular trips to a kind and experienced groomer to make sure she is comfortable.
Venus really loves her kennel friends so at least one confident dog in her new home will help raise her confidence with people and she will watch them and start to copy what they do. This will also help her learn new skills like house training and lead walking. These may take her time to learn as the garden may be as scary as the inside of a home at first and lead walking will need to start in the garden to make sure she is comfortable wearing a harness and lead before venturing out in the world.
With love, gentle words of encouragement and praise Venus will gradually start to realise there is nothing to fear and you will see her start to blossom.
Venus has a travel document.
