Shadow

19-05-25 Lovely Shadow has come to us from a breeder as he was unsold to find the forever home he truly deserves. This very handsome boy is still just a puppy, and while he’s had a bit of a rough start, his future is looking bright.
Shadow has an entropion in his eye which our vets have assessed, he is currently on daily eye lube and the vets have advised that it doesn't need to be repaired at the moment, but he may require surgery to fix this in the future, which would not be coverable by insurance. Shadow also has some breathing issues that may be related to his brachycephalic (flat-faced) nature, so his new family will need to be mindful of this, particularly in hot weather or during exercise. Our vets have noted that this may improve as he grows and his lungs develop further, but it may need further veterinary assessment in future, which would also not be covered by insurance.
Despite these challenges, Shadow is an incredibly friendly and affectionate boy who just adores fuss and attention. He’s a little snuggle bug who’s already won the hearts of everyone here and is going to love being someone’s very special companion.
Shadow would benefit from adopters who are familiar with the Chow Chow breed and understand their unique grooming and care needs. He’s confident enough to be homed as an only dog, but could also happily live with kind, playful dogs who won’t mind sharing their space with a cheeky and energetic pup. We would also consider homing him with dog savvy older children.
Shadow is a gorgeous boy with a huge heart, he’s now just waiting for the right family to give him the love and guidance he needs to thrive.
Shadow will need to attend puppy socialisation classes to help him grow into a well-rounded adult and his adopters will need to agree to have him neutered at the appropriate age as part of our adoption terms.
