  • Human family requirements

I need a quiet home where I won’t be overwhelmed while I settle in at my own pace.

I need a cat free home and would be happy to be the only dog in my new home

I’m still shy, so I will need a secure garden while I get used to my new home.

  • Out and about requirements

I am working on being confident and would love to go on walks when I am settled.

  • Training needs

I need to learn house training, lead walking, and other basics of home life.

I have a granuloma on my right hind leg, I am neutered and ready for adoption.

There are some dogs whose hearts break so quietly, you might not even notice at first. Major was one of them.

When he first arrived, Major was a deeply sensitive and confused boy. His world had crumbled around him, and in response, he simply shut down. He would sit quietly in his kennel, eyes unsure and distant, not asking for anything, just silently watching, trying to understand what had gone wrong and where he now belonged. It was utterly heartbreaking to witness.

But slowly, gently, and with great patience, Major has started to find his feet. And what a joy it’s been to see his true self begin to emerge. He’s now showing us just how special he is, full of joyful energy and that typical Springer spark, eager to sniff, run, and explore the world with wide-eyed wonder. Every day feels like a new adventure, and he greets it with tail wags and boundless enthusiasm.

Where once he held back, Major now bounds up for scruffles and affection, craving human company and loving every minute of it. He can still be a little too enthusiastic around other dogs, so we feel he’d be happiest as the only dog in the home where he can soak up all the love. Please note that due to his high prey drive, he cannot live with cats or small furries.

He’s currently being monitored by our vets for a granuloma on his leg.

Major isn’t just looking for a home, he’s looking for someone to see him. To recognise the sweet, fun, and deeply loving boy he is becoming. With kindness and patience, Major will continue to blossom into the most loyal of companions.

Major's Diary

  • Major is an absolutely brilliant dog with a bright, happy-go-lucky personality and an "every day is the best day" attitude. He’s a classic Springer Spaniel through and through—full of energy, eager to run, chase, sniff, and soak up everything life has to offer.

If you’re a Springer fan looking for a loyal, one-on-one companion, Major might just be your perfect match. He’s not aggressive toward other dogs, but he can be a bit overenthusiastic and frisky in his greetings, which not all dogs appreciate. For this reason, we feel he’d be happiest as the only dog in the home, where he can soak up all the love and attention.

Major absolutely adores people and is always ready to be part of whatever you’re doing. Whether it's a walk, a day out, or just hanging around the house, he’ll be right by your side. He’s easy to love and care for, and he’s blossomed quickly with us. Though he was a little reserved at first, it didn’t take long for his affectionate, playful nature to shine through—now he bounds over for scruffles and cuddles without hesitation.

Please note: Major has a very high prey drive and cannot live with cats or small furries.

If you’re looking for a fun, devoted companion to share your adventures, Major is ready and waiting to meet you.

  • Major is a deeply sensitive boy whose world has recently turned upside down. Right now, he’s feeling overwhelmed by all the changes around him and has heartbreakingly shut down in response. He doesn’t seek out affection or attention, instead, he quietly observes from a safe distance, trying to make sense of his new surroundings and the people in them.

This beautiful boy is unsure of many things, especially people, and can become anxious in busy or noisy situations. Because of this, Major is looking for a calm and understanding home where he can truly exhale and begin to rebuild his trust at his own pace.

With time and gentle patience, Major will start to come out of his shell. Once he begins to feel safe, he will softly and sweetly ask for attention, showing his affection in the most touching and tender ways. A kind and confident resident dog is a must for Major, he will look to them for reassurance and guidance as he learns the rhythm of home life.

He will need adopters who are kind, gentle, and willing to help him with things that are new to him, such as house training and walking on a lead. These are things he has likely never been shown before, but with love, encouragement, and consistency, Major will learn.

Major has a granuloma on his right hind leg that is being treated and will continue to be assessed.

Major isn’t just looking for a home, he’s hoping to find a safe place to rest his heart. With love, patience, and acceptance, this quiet soul will blossom into the loyal and loving companion he was always meant to be. Major has a swollen scrotum due to seroma and the vets are monitoring him to allow his body to re-absorb tissue fluid.
