Hen

25-05-25 Sweet little Hen has come to us from a breeder and is now ready to find her forever home. When she arrived, our vets discovered she had luxating patellas in both of her hind legs. She has since undergone specialist surgery on her left leg, which has been a success. Her right leg has a mild luxation and does not currently require treatment and may improve with gentle exercise and muscle development. However, it’s important to note that any future treatment would not be covered by insurance, so adopters will need to bear that in mind.
Hen has been an angel during her recovery. After several weeks of cage rest, she has healed well and is starting to enjoy a little more freedom. She is currently on restricted exercise, which will gradually increase as she continues to regain strength.
This beautiful girl has a gentle and affectionate nature. She will happily approach you for fuss and affection, offering gentle kisses in return. She’s been a delight to care for, and we’re so proud of how well she’s coped with everything.
Hen loves other dogs and would thrive with a kind resident dog in her new home to help her feel safe and supported as she continues to settle. She has never lived in a home before, so she will need patient adopters who can help her learn about house training and all the new experiences of home life. We would consider homing her with kind, gentle, dog savvy older children who understand her needs and can offer her the calm, loving environment she deserves.
Hen walks beautifully on a lead, though her exercise remains limited for now, but we think she is going to enjoy walks and adventures with her new family.
Hen has been through a lot, but throughout it all, she’s remained trusting and sweet. She is so ready to find her happy ever after.
