  • Human family requirements

I need a calm and quiet, adult only home where I can settle in at my own pace.

I will need a kind resident dog to take me under their wing. I have never met cats.

I would like a secure garden to spend time in.

  • Out and about requirements

I haven't tried walks just yet and will find this a bit overwhelming at the moment.

  • Training needs

I have never lived in a home so I will need help to learn house training.

  • Medical issues

I have dirty ears and low grade patella luxation in my left hind leg.

29-05-25 Toastie has come to us from a breeder and is now looking for her forever home. Right now, she is a very worried girl who is feeling overwhelmed by her new surroundings and all the changes in her life. Toastie is extremely nervous about being handled and doesn’t yet understand that hands can bring love, comfort, and kindness.

She will be looking for a calm and quiet, adult only home with adopters who can give her the time and space she needs to begin to trust. Ideally, her new family will have experience with scared ex-breeding dogs and understand that Toastie’s journey will take patience, consistency, and gentle care.

Toastie must have at least one other kind and confident resident dog in her new home to help guide her and be a source of reassurance as she learns about her new life. A canine friend will be essential in helping her settle in and show her that the world doesn’t have to be scary.

She has never lived in a home before, so will need to learn all about house training and home life. Toastie has also never walked on a lead, so this will need to be introduced very slowly, starting in a secure garden while her confidence builds.

Toastie will need time, love, and understanding to come out of her shell, but for the right person, the journey will be incredibly rewarding. The first time she gives you a tail wag or comes to you of her own choice will be a moment you’ll never forget.

If you have a quiet, loving home and a gentle dog ready to take Toastie under their wing, you could be the one to help her discover a life full of warmth, safety, and love.

Toastie has arrived with dirty ears which will need regular cleaning and gentle care to help get them nice and clean again. Our vets have also noted she has a low grade patella luxation in her left hind leg, this may improve with gentle exercise as she builds muscle but should she require any treatment in the future, this would not be covered by insurance.

Toastie has been given the Gift of Life by Sian French
