Josey

30-05-25 Josey has come to us from a breeder to find her forever home. She arrived in a very sorry state, clearly in desperate need of love, kindness, and care. This sweet girl has had a tough start to life and is now looking for a home where she can finally begin to heal, feel safe, and be loved as she always should have been.
Josey is looking for a calm and quiet, adult only home with adopters who have experience with ex-breeding dogs and understand the time, patience, and compassion it takes to help a dog like her find confidence and trust.
She will need at least one other kind and confident resident dog in her new home to be her friend and take her under their wing. Having another dog around will give her the support she needs to settle in and learn about all the new things life as a pet brings.
Josey has never lived in a home before, so she will need gentle encouragement as she learns about house training and daily routines. She does not yet walk on a lead and will need to start slowly, practising in a secure garden to help build her confidence.
Josey arrived with a very sore and infected mouth, and we made sure she saw the vet straight away. She has since had 10 teeth removed and is currently receiving treatment for the infection to help her feel much more comfortable. While under anaesthetic, she also had a benign lump removed from the side of her head, and we’re pleased to say she is recovering well.
Despite everything she has been through, Josey still has a gentle and hopeful spirit, and she so deserves a loving home where she can finally feel safe, cherished, and free to be herself.
If you have a quiet, understanding home and a kind dog to help guide Josey, please consider offering this brave little soul the second chance she so deeply needs.
