Lorcan is an incredibly handsome and gentle boy who first came to us as a 9-week-old pup due to a issue with his little boy bits, which has since been treated and resolved. He was adopted from us as a pup and was lucky enough to grow up knowing the warmth and love of a real home, but heartbreakingly, he has been returned to us through no fault of his own following a relationship breakdown and a change in living circumstances.

Lorcan is now looking for a forever family who can offer him the stability, love, and comfort he so clearly thrives in. He’s a true homebody who loves nothing more than curling up on the sofa with a pile of blankets, snuggling into them for a cozy nap.

We are told by his previous family, that when he’s not relaxing, Lorcan is a joyful and playful boy who lives for his tennis balls and squeaky toys! He adores human company and has such a gentle, sweet nature that it’s hard not to fall in love with him straight away.

We are also told that, Lorcan gets along beautifully with other dogs, both big and small. While he can occasionally be a little wary around male dogs, he is currently in foster with males and doing very well. We believe this may be circumstantial, so a meet and greet with any resident dogs would be important to ensure a smooth introduction. He is confident enough to be an only dog and may prefer to soak up all of the attention to himself! He’s also good with cats, he might be a little unsure at first, but he tends to just ignore them, therefore, he could be homed with dog-savvy cats.

Lorcan is wonderfully chilled, calm, and affectionate, but he still has a playful side and enjoys a good runaround or game of fetch. He’s house-trained and knows to toilet outside when given the prompt “busy busy" as he has learned in his previous home. He is such a clever and well-mannered boy who just wants to be part of a family again.

Lorcan was born with a congenital abnormality of the urinary tract and now urinates through a surgically created opening. This doesn’t affect his ability to toilet, and he manages very well with no current issues. He also does not have a tail, which may be linked to the same congenital condition.

Lorcan has been diagnosed with Bilateral Luxating Patella, Grade 1-2 on the right and 2-3 on the left. Currently, this is being managed with medication, but it may require surgical intervention in the future. Please note that this would not be covered by standard pet insurance policies.

Additionally, Lorcan has a block vertebrae (C2-C4) and mild disc compression at C4-5. This occasionally causes him some discomfort, which is currently managed with pain relief medication. As with his knees, this may need further treatment in time, and this too is unlikely to be covered by insurance.

Lorcan truly is the epitome of a gentle soul. After everything he’s been through, he deserves nothing less than a loving home where he can continue to enjoy the simple pleasures of home life—soft blankets, kind words, and someone to throw a tennis ball.
