Ember

12-06-25 Ember is a beautiful, gentle soul who has come to us from a breeder to find her forever home. Very sadly, Ember has a genetic condition which affects both her vision and hearing, likely caused by being double merle. She has impaired vision and is sensitive to light, but she navigates her surroundings very well and doesn’t bump into things so does have some vision. We think she has very limited hearing and may be completely deaf. Despite these challenges, Ember remains a sweet and resilient little dog who is doing her very best to understand this new world.
To make Ember's story even sadder, when she arrived with us, we discovered that she was pregnant. Shortly after arrival she gave birth to a litter of puppies, but understandably found this incredibly overwhelming and struggled to cope with them and was unable to look after or nurture them and so in the best interests of both Ember and the puppies, they are now being hand raised.
Ember has grown in confidence so much since arrival with us and is now a happy and friendly girl, who enjoys gentle fuss and attention and will offer you sweet little kisses. She is looking for a calm and quiet, adult only home where she can take life at her own pace and settle in gently.
Ember will need at least one other kind and confident resident dog in her new home to help show her the way and offer the reassurance she needs as she settles into her new life. Her new family will need to be patient and supportive as Ember has never lived in a home before. She will need to learn all about house training and home life.
She has started learning to walk on a lead and is doing well and enjoying her walks but does need more practice to build confidence.
Ember will need kind, patient adopters who can offer her the time, support, and unconditional love she has never known. With the right home, we believe Ember has the potential to blossom into a truly wonderful companion.
