Bowie

Bowie has come to us from a home in search of a new family. He was initially adopted from our rescue centre as a pup, and since then, he has grown into a stunning young dog. Unfortunately, he has developed a fear of strangers, and if the warning signs are ignored, he can be pushed into making the wrong decision. However, he has been a good boy in kennels and with proper introductions, he has quickly warmed to different members of staff.
Bowie is quite confident and has previously lived as the only dog in the home. He has been good with other dogs, and so he may take some confidence from a well-rounded resident dog, pending a meet and greet. He does not like cats, so please be mindful of any neighbouring cats.
As Bowie has lived in a home, he is used to the creature comforts that a home life brings. He is housetrained but may need some reminding in a new environment. He enjoys a good run around and has been known to run for hours, so a large open space would be ideal for this active boy. He is great on the lead and is muzzle-trained, but his previous owners have said that he cannot be off the lead when out and about, so you may benefit from booking a secure outdoor space for him to burn some energy from time to time. Bowie eats on command, so don't forget to tell him to 'take it' when dropping his food, or he will stare at you in anticipation until you remember!
Due to Bowie's fear of strangers, we are looking for an experienced adult-only home for him. He does not like children, so he cannot be homed where there are visiting children, and you will need to be mindful of his walking routes.
Bowie really is a striking dog and can be so affectionate when he trusts you. He needs an experienced, adult-only home that can set him up for success when it comes to visitors in the home, and in return, he will make a lovely companion.
