19-06-25 Leia is a beautiful Lurcher girl who has come to us from a dog pound to find her forever home. Life hasn’t been easy for Leia so far, and she is a very nervous, timid girl who is finding kennel life completely overwhelming. Despite this, she is so gentle, there’s not a bad bone in her body.

With people she knows and trusts, Leia’s playful side starts to shine through, and it’s clear that underneath the nerves is a loving, sweet soul who just wants to feel safe. She’s a little baby at heart, and anyone who knows and loves sighthounds will absolutely adore her. She comes to life in the play yard with her new friends and it is so refreshing to see her goofy and active side - a true Lurcher. Leia would love at least one kind resident dog in the home that she can look to as she settles in as a companion and as a play mate! Leia does walk nicely on a lead and would love a few gentle walks throughout the day after she has had time to settle in.

Leia will need her adopters to be kind as she learns house training but she does walk nicely on a lead and would enjoy plenty of adventures. She cannot live with children as they would be too much for her gentle, sensitive nature. What she really needs is a calm, understanding home with patient adopters who will give her the time and space she needs to build her confidence. If you have experience with nervous dogs or sighthound breeds you could be the right home for Leia.
