Emrys

19-06-25 Emrys is a striking, high-energy Collie who came to us from a farm where his owner could no longer give him the time he needed. After arriving he quickly found himself in foster, where he received plenty of exercise, mental stimulation, and affection, everything a clever Collie thrives on.
He was adopted for a short time, but sadly returned to us after displaying behaviours in the home that hadn’t been seen while in foster. His adopters told us that Emrys exhibited some guarding tendencies and could react negatively when he felt backed into a corner or overwhelmed. Because of this, he’s looking for a calm, adult-only home with experienced adopters who understand the needs of a sensitive, intelligent dog and can support him with firm but kind guidance.
Emrys will need a secure garden with space to run, and a home that can provide him with plenty of structured physical and mental activity to keep him happy and settled. He’s a bright boy who’s eager to please and loves learning. With patience, consistency, and the right support, Emrys has every potential to thrive.
Emrys is now back with his original foster where he has shown many lovely qualities, he is clean in the house, travels well in the car, walks nicely on the lead, and is affectionate with those he trusts. He’s also food-motivated and already learning basic commands. We believe that Emrys thrives on activity and as he has not displayed these behaviours in foster it may be because he is provided with so much stimulation and exercises. His adopters will need to keep this in mind, and ideally be very active and willing to provide him with different games and activities to keep his mind busy.
Emrys could live with another confident resident dog or be the only dog in the right home. He cannot live with cats, and due to his sensitivity, he will need a home without children or visiting children.
This boy has so much potential and is just waiting for the right people to help him blossom.
