  • Human family requirements

I need patient owners whilst I adjust to living in a home.

  • Other pet requirements

I can be an only dog but I also like the company of others. I haven't met cats yet.

  • House and garden requirements

I would love a secure garden to exercise in.

  • Out and about requirements

I would like regular walks and some adventures.

  • Training needs

I need to learn house manners when I am settled into my home. I can walk on a lead.

  • Medical issues

I am neutered & have a visible healed cut on my right ear, but nothing serious!

Bernard is a very special boy who has travelled all the way from Romania to find the loving forever home he truly deserves. His story hasn’t been an easy one. Bernard arrived in Lancram in September 2023, either abandoned by his family or picked up by the Dog Catchers. When he was first found, he was heartbreakingly thin, with his ribs showing, and seemed to have completely shut down, showing little interest in the world around him.

Thankfully, Bernard has spent the past couple of years in a safe shelter, slowly learning to trust again, and has blossomed into a gentle, loving soul. He enjoys the company of other dogs and absolutely loves being with people now that he’s discovered kindness.

Bernard has only just arrived with us here, but he’s already charming every single person who meets him. He has the sweetest, gentlest nature, and we know that, given the right home, he is going to make someone the most wonderful, loyal friend.

Bernard will need adopters who understand that rescue dogs like him may need a little time and patience to adjust to home life, especially after everything he’s been through. Having a resident dog would likely help him continue to build confidence, although this is not essential if his adopters have plenty of time to help him settle. He is walking on a lead well and may need some house training when settled.

Bernard has come to us with a notch on his right ear, but nothing serious, he is now ready to start the next, happier chapter of his life, one where he’s cherished, safe, and loved.

Bernard possesses a passport and was tested for Leishmania and Brucella before arriving with us, and both tests were negative.
