Parrot is a beautiful, sensitive boy who came to us from a breeder and is now ready to find a forever home full of love, patience, and understanding. When he first arrived, Parrot was extremely shut down and overwhelmed by the world around him. But with time, gentle care, and consistent reassurance, he’s begun to show us just how much potential he has to grow.

Parrot is still a nervous lad at heart, but he’s made some truly heartwarming progress. He now actively seeks out affection and will quietly sit at your feet, patiently waiting for some gentle head scratches. His sweet nature shines through in these quiet moments, and it’s clear he wants to trust, he just needs a little help getting there.

On walks, Parrot continues to be cautious, though he walks beautifully on a lead. Loud or unfamiliar environments can still overwhelm him, and when that happens, he may lie down and look for comfort. With a bit of reassurance (and the occasional cuddle), he’s learning that the world isn’t so scary after all. He’s not your typical high-energy collie, he’s more reserved and observant, but we believe in the right home, his playful side will start to come through.

Parrot absolutely loves treats and is slowly gaining the confidence to take them more freely. He also shares his space and mealtimes well with his kennel-mates, showing his gentle, cooperative nature.

He’ll need a calm, adult-only home, ideally with someone who has experience with nervous dogs. Most importantly, he’ll need and benefit from a kind and steady resident dog to help him adjust and show him the ropes of home life. He’s also shown he can live alongside a calm, dog-savvy cat.

As Parrot has never lived in a home before, he’ll need support with house training, routines, and settling into a new lifestyle. But with time and kindness, he’ll make a truly loyal and loving companion.

Parrot’s journey is already well underway, he just needs the right person to help him continue blossoming. Parrot has slightly abducted hind limbs, noted by our vets, but this causes him no issues at present.

Parrot's Diary

  • Parrot is the sweetest boy, longing for someone to love him and help him learn to trust humans again. He’s incredibly nervous and needs a gentle, patient companion who can show him the world isn’t so scary after all.

Despite his fears, Parrot adores affection. He’ll sit politely at your feet, quietly asking for head scratches and a bit of love. Out on walks, he’s unsure and cautious. He walks well on a lead, but the world can feel overwhelming to him. When he gets frightened, he may drop to his side, seeking comfort and reassurance, a little cuddle is often all it takes to help him feel safe again.

Though he’s shy and sensitive, Parrot lights up for treats! He loves food and tasty snacks, though he needs to feel safe before he can enjoy them. He also shares mealtimes nicely with his kennel-mates.

Parrot is a gentle soul with a heart full of love, he just needs someone kind and patient to help him build confidence and discover the joy of being a dog again.

  • Parrot is a very handsome boy who has come to us from a breeder in search of his forever home. At the moment, he’s feeling quite scared and uncertain and is worried to find himself here. The world is a big and unfamiliar place to him, and he’s still learning that people can be kind and gentle.

What Parrot needs most right now is love, patience, and time. With a calm and quiet adult only home and adopters who ideally have experience with nervous dogs, Parrot will be able to slowly come out of his shell and start to feel safe.

He already walks on a lead, but he’s still very unsure and will need more practice in quiet, peaceful areas to build his confidence at his own pace. Currently, he is not an overly-active stereotypical collie, but we are hoping in the right home he will begin to let his adventurous side shine!

Parrot will need another kind, resident dog in his new home, a calm and friendly companion who can offer comfort, guidance, and help him adjust to his new life. He has been around some cats here at the rescue and does not seem to pay them any mind, so he could be homed with a dog-savvy cat.

He has never lived in a home before so he will need to learn all about house training, home routines, and how to settle into family life.

He may be a worried boy right now, but with gentle support and lots of love, Parrot has every chance to blossom into a loyal and loving companion. If you can offer him the safe haven he needs, he’ll reward you with quiet trust and a special bond that’s truly worth the wait.

The vets have noted that Parrot has slightly abducted hind limbs but this does not cause him any issues currently.
