Rust – A Gentle Soul Looking for a Patient and Loving Home

Rust is a beautiful little girl who has come to us from a breeder and is still finding her feet in the world. She is a worried girl who takes comfort in the presence of other dogs and prefers to watch from the background rather than come forward for attention. However, despite her worries, Rust craves love and enjoys being close to her trusted humans once she feels safe and really enjoys a gentle fuss.

Since arriving in foster, Rust has made progress in small but meaningful ways. She is unbothered by household noises and activities and is slowly gaining confidence. She loves snuggling up on the sofa and being near her fosterer, showing just how affectionate she wants to be. She is learning all about toilet training and is almost completely house trained. She can now walk on a lead and harness and really enjoys going for walks with her canine friends!

She will need a calm and quiet home with a kind and confident resident dog to show her the way and help her feel secure. Rust enjoys the company of other dogs, both male and female, and takes comfort in their presence. She does love to play with other dogs, so would like the resident dog in her new home to be willing to play with her.

She is a gentle soul who just needs time, love, and understanding to flourish. She has spent time with her fosterers grandchildren and enjoyed their company, so we would consider homing her with dog savvy teenagers who would allow her to settle in at her own pace.

If you have experience with nervous dogs and the patience to help Rust blossom, she will reward you with endless love and loyalty. She is waiting for that special someone to take a chance on her.
