06-07-25 This lovely little girl is Gwen and she originally came to us from a breeder a few months ago. She was adopted into a kind and loving home where she began to discover what it meant to be part of a family. Sadly, despite her adopters’ best efforts, Gwen remained very frightened, especially of the male in the home, and it was felt that she needed a quieter and more suitable environment to help her flourish. She has now come back to us to continue her search for the right forever home.

Gwen is a very scared girl who will need a calm and quiet, adult only home where she can feel safe and settle in at her own pace. She finds the world quite overwhelming and needs gentle, patient adopters who will not rush her or expect too much too soon.

Gwen relies on other dogs for comfort and so will need at least one other kind and confident resident dog in her new home to help her settle in. Having a canine friend will be a great comfort to her and will help her to come out of her shell and grow in confidence.

Before she was adopted, Gwen had never lived in a home, but she had started to learn all about home life and was beginning to pick up new skills like house training. Her new family must be prepared to continue this gently and positively, understanding that she may need time to adjust again.

At the moment, Gwen is still too worried to learn about walking on a lead and harness. For now, she will need to practice wearing her harness and lead safely around the house and garden until she is ready to venture further. This will all need to be done very gradually, with lots of reassurance and praise.

Gwen has so much potential and will need a patient, and loving home where she can feel secure. If you think you can offer her the quiet environment she needs and the time and understanding to let her grow in confidence, please consider applying for this very special girl.

Gwen has been spayed and has had a cyst and mammary lump removed during the procedure as well as a inguinal hernia repaired and two teeth extracted. Gwen's ears are developing into cauliflower ear and she is being to develop cataracts in both eyes. She has received treatment for mucky years. Gwen has a travel document.
