Gentle Pongo Ready for His Second Chance

Pongo is a stunning 8 year old Spanish Mastin cross who has travelled all the way from Spain in search of a brighter future. His story is a heartbreaking one: once living in a home, Pongo was removed by authorities due to cruelty and found himself in a Spanish pound with little hope. Thankfully, kind-hearted volunteers stepped in to save him, and now he is safe with us at Many Tears, ready to find the loving forever home he’s always deserved.

Despite everything he’s been through, Pongo is an incredibly gentle and affectionate boy. He has a calm, wise presence about him and takes great joy in simply spending time with his carers. He walks beautifully on a lead, enjoys his walks and yard time, and has a lovely bond with his doggy friend Bunny, with whom he shares the big play area. Pongo sits and waits patiently for his food or a treat, showing what a well-mannered lad he truly is.

Pongo may need a little support with house training as he adjusts to a home environment and unfamiliar sounds like the TV or hoover. We’re told he previously lived in a home, but that may now feel like a distant memory. He can be rehomed as an only dog in the right circumstances or with a friendly female dog, as he seems to prefer the company of ladies. Pongo cannot live with cats, as he finds them far too interesting.

He has tested negative for Brucella Canis, Leishmania, Heartworm, Anaplasma, and Ehrlichia, and he travels with his passport.

Pongo is so loved by everyone here, but what he truly needs is a family of his own. He has waited patiently while other dogs come and go, and we can’t understand why this gentle soul keeps being overlooked. If you can offer him the forever home he so deserves, he will repay you with a lifetime of loyalty and love.

Pongo's Diary

  • It feels like Pongo has been here forever and I can't understand why. He is such a handsome man, with a gentle soul, he is very well behaved, walks excellently on a lead, loves going out for walks, spending time in the yard and running around in the big play with his buddy Bunny. He sits and waits patiently when you give him a treat or his food too. Pongo has had a difficult start in life and shouldn't be spending his life in kennels, we do what we can here for them and try to make their days here worthwhile, but he deserves so much more. He is very loved and cared for here, but what he really needs is a home with a family he can call his own. A forever home. So many dogs have come in and gone home before him and it just feels a bit unfair that he keeps getting overlooked when he is the loveliest soul.

  • This handsome looking man is Pongo, we think he is a Spanish Mastin cross and he has made a very long trip to be here with us. Pongo was living in Spain and ended up in a Spanish pound. We are told that he had lived in a home but had been removed from his owners by the authorities due to cruelty. Pongo's chances of getting out of the pound were slim, but kind volunteers stepped in to help and contacted Many Tears to see if we could take him. Pongo is now here looking for his second chance. Pongo is a wise looking boy, who happily watches the world go by calmy, he is very easy going and just happy for you to be around him. Despite his past, he is so very loving and wonderful to be around. Pongo can already walk beautifully on a lead but will need patient adopters to help teach him house training as he may need reminders of this. Pongo can be an only dog in the right circumstances or he could be homed with with other doggy friends. He is affectionate with other dogs but defiantly prefers the ladies, because of this if he is to be homed with another dog they would have to be female, he also can not be homed with cats as he is way too interested. Pongo will need some time to adjust to house sounds such as the TV and hoover, as he may have never heard these before. Pongo is going to make a great companion and can't wait for someone to give him all the love that he has always deserved.

Pongo has travelled from Spain and has received negative test results for Brucella Canis, Leishmania, Heartworm, Anaplasma and Ehrlichia. He also has a passport.
