For those who have worked with Kernal they can see the progress he has made and can start to see his personality shine through, however for those who haven’t met him you would still think he’s the same worried, scared, quiet boy. To a degree he still is but with the people he knows and trusts he’s coming on sooo lovely!! Kernal walks lead perfectly and enjoys going out and down the big play yard, any sudden movements or loud noises do spook him still so with this in mind he’ll need a calm and quiet environment where he’s given space and a lot of patience to be able to flourish. He shares food, toys and beds with his kennel friends and will need to be homed with another kind resident dog either male or female. Hes started to play a little game when I go and collect him from the yard where normally he would come straight to me so I can put the lead on him now however he thinks it’s funny too come to me and then walk away - like if to say come and get me, and to see this cheeky side of him coming out is just soo lovely from the shut down worried boy he once was. Kernal is a very quiet laid back boy and in all honesty you don’t realise he’s there he’s very easy going and just very sweet. Any children should be older teens (16+) who are respectful and understanding that he’ll need space and time to adjust to his new environment.

Gentle Kernel is Looking for a Kind, Patient Home
Kernal is a 7-year-old Harrier who has come to us from a breeder. When he first arrived, he was a very shut-down and worried boy, unsure of his new surroundings and of the people caring for him. Over the past few months, it has been a joy to see him slowly come out of his shell and begin to show glimpses of his gentle, sweet personality.
With those he knows and trusts, Kernal is starting to show a cheeky side. He has even developed a little game of coming up for his lead, then walking away as if to say, "come and get me." These small steps show how far he has come and give us hope for the wonderful companion he will become in the right home. However, for people meeting him for the first time, Kernel may still appear very quiet and shy, and sudden noises or quick movements can still startle him.
Kernal walks beautifully on a lead and enjoys his time outdoors, especially when he can explore the play yard at his own pace. He shares food, toys, and beds happily with his kennel friends, showing his easy-going nature.
As he has never lived in a home before, Kernal will need patient adopters who can gently help him learn about house training, home life, and the routines of family living. To help him feel safe and supported, Kernal will need at least one kind resident dog in his new home who can show him the ropes and give him confidence. Because of his sensitive nature, any children in the home should be older teenagers (16+) who can understand and respect his need for space and gentle handling.
Kernal is a very quiet, laid-back boy who would thrive in a calm, understanding home where he can go at his own pace and continue to build trust. With time, patience, and plenty of love, Kernel has the potential to blossom into a truly wonderful and loyal friend.
Kernal's Diary

What a gentle and lovely boy Kernal is. He has come to us from a breeder and is bewildered as to why he has found himself here. Kernal is a bit shy when approached but allows us to stroke him and seems to enjoy a gentle fuss. He has a sore hot spot on his shoulders which aren't bothering him but we will keep an eye on them. Although Kernal walks on a lead beautifully we don't believe he has ever lived in a home so he will need help with house training etc. He needs an understanding home and in time and with adopters who have plenty of time and patience Kernal will start to trust them and they will see him transform into a wonderful friend. Kernal will need at least one kind resident dog to help him to settle into his new life and his adopters need to have plenty of patience and love to help him learn about home life.
