I’ve had the honour of working closely with Thor. I work with him 5 days out of the week and he has completely stolen my heart. With me, he hasn’t put a foot wrong. He’s been kind, affectionate, gentle, and truthfully a big baby at heart. He loves cuddling, leaning in for affection, and just being close to his person.
That said, Thor can be selective about who he trusts. Sometimes, for reasons we still don’t fully understand, he meets someone and without an obvious trigger, he’ll decide he doesn’t like them.
It's not something you can train out overnight and is why we’re looking for something special. Not just a home, but a safe haven.
Thor walks well on a harness. He was hesitant about walks at first, but he’s come such a long way! He especially enjoys longline walks in open fields and would absolutely love quiet adventures at a peaceful beach or park. A secure garden where he can relax in the sun, sniff around, and come back to his person would be a dream come true for him.
He’s not always reactive walking past people or dogs, and if he ever shows signs of uncertainty, a simple “come on” and a gentle lead cue are usually enough to redirect him. Once he trusts you, he is incredibly loving, the kind of dog who will curl up on your lap the moment you sit down, looking for comfort and connection.
Thor doesn’t need a lot just a calm place to call home and a human to love, one who won’t give up on him. I’ve been honoured to earn his trust and friendship. I truly believe there’s someone out there who can be that safe, steady person for him.
Thor deserves more than a kennel. He deserves a second chance.
Thor

Thor is a handsome, affectionate boy who originally came to us from a breeder, having been raised in a home-style environment. He was adopted for a short time, but unfortunately, some fear-based behaviours emerged that hadn’t previously been seen, and he was sadly returned to us. Since then, Thor has been working hard to rebuild his confidence and is now looking for his true forever home, a calm, understanding space where he can feel safe and secure.
With those he trusts, Thor has never put a foot wrong, he’s affectionate, gentle, and incredibly loyal. However, if he becomes frightened or decides he doesn’t feel safe around someone, he may react out of fear.
Thor can be selective about who he bonds with. Sometimes, without an obvious trigger, he may decide someone isn't for him. It’s not something that can be trained away quickly, and that’s why we’re not just looking for a home for Thor, we’re looking for a sanctuary. He needs someone who understands that trust takes time and is willing to give him the space and patience he deserves.
He thrives in quiet environments and will need an adult-only home with minimal visitors and no visiting children. A secure garden where he can relax, sniff around, and enjoy the sun would be ideal for him. He walks well on a harness and has come a long way from initially being hesitant about walks. He especially enjoys peaceful strolls in open spaces or at the beach, where he can feel relaxed and safe.
Though Thor is generally fine passing other dogs on walks, he’d much prefer to be the only pet in the home so he can soak up all the attention for himself. He’s also house trained and has great recall to his name.
Thor does have some dermatitis, which our vets are managing, but it doesn’t stop him from being the loving, snuggly soul he truly is. And while he may have his quirks, he doesn’t need much—just a calm place to call home, and a steady, kind human who won’t give up on him.
Thor deserves more than life in a kennel. He deserves a second chance—and in the right hands, he’ll repay that kindness with deep, loyal love.

Thor is a handsome boy who has come to us from a breeder, but was raised in a home-style environment. He was adopted for a short time, but unfortunately displayed some behaviours in the home that we were previously unaware of. Out of fear, he made some uncharacteristic decisions and was sadly returned to us.
Thor is now looking for his true forever home – one that offers a calm, quiet environment with minimal visitors, as he can become overwhelmed and reactive when he feels uncomfortable or backed into a corner.
That said, please don’t let this put you off considering this sweet boy. Thor is a true cuddle bug who absolutely loves to snuggle on your lap and receive gentle fuss and he’d happily stay there all day if he could! He’s a loving and affectionate lad once he feels safe.
Thor enjoys going on walks and is currently working on his harness training. He doesn’t mind walking alongside fellow four-legged friends when he is out and about but he would love to be an only dog so he can soak up all of the attention for himself!
He will need an adult-only home with limited visitors as well as no visiting children and would appreciate an understanding and calm home as he settles in. But once he knows you, Thor is incredibly loyal and loving. We’re also told he is house trained and has excellent recall to his name.
Thor does have some dermatitis, which our vets are treating, but it doesn’t stop him from being the affectionate, snuggly little love bug he truly is.
