Muddy

05-05-25 Muddy is a very handsome Shih Tzu boy who has come to us from a home. Sadly, we’ve been told that he spent around six months being left home alone, with only someone popping in to feed him, and as a result he can be quite worried and unsure in new situations. Because of this, Muddy may take a little time to warm up to new people, but once he learns to trust you, he becomes your very best friend and will happily jump into your lap for cuddles.
Muddy is a sweet soul who needs a calm, understanding home where he can settle at his own pace. He will be looking for an adult-only home with no visiting children and with adopters who have experience with sensitive dogs. He would especially benefit from a home familiar with the unique quirks and charming sassiness that come with the Shih Tzu breed.
We are told that Muddy can show signs of separation anxiety, so his adopters will need to work on this slowly and patiently, helping him feel safe and secure when left alone. Although he has lived in a home before, he may need to learn all about house training, so gentle guidance and consistency will be key.
Muddy walks beautifully on the lead and will really enjoy going out and about with his new family. He is confident enough to be homed as an only dog, as long as his adopters are around for most of the time. However, he could also live happily with other kind and gentle dogs.
This lovely boy truly deserves a second chance at a happy life. If you can offer Muddy a quiet, supportive home where he can settle in at his own pace, then please don't leave him waiting.
