14-05-25 Onyx has come to us from a breeder as an unsold pup, and sadly, she has arrived in a truly heartbreaking condition. At just four months old, this tiny girl has already endured far more than any puppy ever should.

She came to us absolutely crawling with fleas and lice, which she has now been treated for. Her skin is sore and patchy where large matts had pulled on her fur and has torn at her delicate skin. She’s missing hair in several places and is clearly a little girl who has never known comfort, care, or love.

Onyx is incredibly quiet and gentle. Her eyes speak volumes, full of sadness, confusion, and neglect. It’s clear she’s never known what it feels like to be safe, or to belong. But she is with us now, and we are doing everything we can to help her begin her healing journey.

Despite everything she’s been through, Onyx is easy to handle and tries her very best to be brave. She needs a kind and patient home, somewhere calm where she can take things at her own pace and begin to understand what love really is. She will be looking for a home where there was another kind resident dog to take her under their wing and be her friend. She finds being alone quite worrying, which is no surprise given all she’s known.

She could live with older, dog-savvy children who will treat her with the gentleness and empathy she deserves.

Onyx will need time, patience, and lots of TLC. She will need to be spayed when old enough and will benefit from gentle puppy socialisation classes once she’s settled. She has a lot to learn, including house training and walking on a lead, but what she really needs most of all is love, kindness, and someone who won’t give up on her.
