Piano has settled into kennel life as well as she can, but it’s clear this isn’t where she’s going to thrive. She gets excited to see familiar faces at her kennel door, but once you’re inside, she drops to the ground and tries to make herself as small as possible.
Out on walks, Piano has made massive progress when she first arrived, she would army crawl along the floor. Now, she walks on the lead with growing confidence. That said, she still finds the outside world overwhelming. If something startles her or she’s unsure, she will flip onto her back and go stiff. She’s trying hard, and it shows.
Every now and then, you get little glimpses of who Piano really is underneath the fear and it’s those moments that tell us everything. She’s gentle, sensitive, and desperate to trust. But we know we’re not going to see her true self in kennels.
Piano is in urgent need of a calm, understanding forever home. She gets along well with other dogs and will rely heavily on a confident resident dog to help guide her and show.
