I’m still shy, so I will need a secure garden while I get used to my new home.

  • Out and about requirements

I’m a young puppy and will love walks once my vaccinations are done!

  • Training needs

I am just a puppy! Please be patient with me while I learn the basics!

  • Medical issues

I have an underbite and a haematoma on my left ear, read below for more.

Velvet: A Bright Little Soul Learning to Shine

Velvet arrived to us from a breeder and has now found himself in foster, where he is blossoming into a bright, affectionate little chap. He has come on beautifully in just a short time — he already knows his name, comes when called, sits on command, and is happily walking on a harness and lead in the garden. While still a little unsure about being picked up, once in your arms he settles quickly and is very easy to handle.

Velvet is currently being carried on short walks to gently introduce him to the outside world, and once his vaccinations are complete, he’ll benefit from slow, positive socialisation around traffic, sounds, and new experiences. He absolutely adores other dogs and is often found snuggled up with his canine companions in foster. He’d thrive in a home with at least one kind, confident resident dog, but would also be happy in a multi-dog household.

Having been in foster for a week now, we feel Velvet could live with dog-savvy teenagers who will be calm and gentle with him. His once-mucky ears are now clean, and although he has a thickening on one of his ears, possibly caused by a haematoma, this needs no treatment and is causing no problems.

Velvet will still need patient adopters who can help him adjust to home life and continue his training and socialisation. He’s a super little pup with so much love to give and, with continued care and kindness, will grow into a loyal and happy companion.

Velvet's Diary

  • Velvet (know as Teddy in foster) is a bright little pup, he already answers to his name, will sit on command, and can walk on a harness and lead in the garden. He is being carried on walks to get him used to the outside world and will need gentle socialisation with traffic and street noise etc once his vaccinations are complete.

He comes running when we call his name but he does find being picked up a little worrying however once he is in your arms he settles straight away and is easy to handle.  He loves other dogs and often snuggles with the dogs here and would be happy either with one other dog or in a multi dog household. Teddy will be the most loving loyal little dog and is ready for his forever family.

Having assessed him over the past week we think he could live with dog savvy teenagers he's a super little chap who has made really good progress in foster. His ears are now clean and I understand the haematoma doesn't require any treatment.

  • Velvet is a super sweet and absolutely gorgeous little pup who has come to us from a breeder. Velvet is a worried little boy who is quite overwhelmed to find himself here at the moment and isn't quite brave enough to approach you just yet. He isn't too keen on being picked up at the moment, but with a little TLC and patience, he will start to come out of his shell.

Velvet will be looking for a calm and quiet home where he can settle in at his own pace and where there was another kind and confident dog who will take him under their wing. He has never lived in a home before, so Velvet will need kind and understanding adopters to help him learn the basics, such as house training and walking on a lead.

Velvets adopters will need to agreed to have him neutered at the appropriate age and he must attend puppy socialisation and training classes to help him grow into a happy, confident adult. With time, care, and lots of love, Velvet will absolutely thrive and adore home life.

Velvet has come to us with a haematoma on his left ear, a charming underbite, and mucky ears that are currently receiving cleaning treatment.
