Castiel

05-07-25 This very handsome boy is Castiel. He came to us from a breeder after being returned by his previous owners. We were told that he had shown some signs of resource guarding in his former home, and because there were children in the household, they felt it was best to return him to the breeder.
Castiel will be looking for an adult only home with no visiting children, and with adopters who have experience managing similar behaviours. He is a wonderful boy who, in the right home with positive reinforcement and a consistent routine, will truly thrive.
He is a confident boy who is happy to come up and say hello and enjoys a gentle fuss. He could happily be homed as an only dog, provided his adopters are around most of the time, but he could also live with another kind and playful resident dog. He cannot be homed with cats or small furries.
Castiel walks well on a lead and is going to love going on walks and adventures with his new family. He would be best suited to an active home where he can be kept both mentally and physically stimulated. We are told he loves spending time outdoors and enjoys sniffing everything in sight. He has always been walked on a lead unless in a secure field, so he will need ongoing work on his recall.
Castiel is used to living in a home and is house trained, although he may need a few reminders in his new home as he settles in, but he has been kennel clean here too. He loves playing with toys and also enjoys a cosy sofa snuggle. He is a clever boy who knows sit, paw, up, and spin.
In the right home, he will be amazing. With the patience, understanding, and love he deserves, Castiel will blossom into the loyal and wonderful companion he is meant to be.
Can live with other dogs
