  • Human family requirements

I need a calm home with no children to help me get used to home life.

  • Other pet requirements

I need a doggy friend in my new home. I've never met cats so I'm unsure.

  • House and garden requirements

I’m still shy, so I will need a secure garden while I get used to my new home.

  • Out and about requirements

I haven’t been on walks yet but I am curious and enjoy being in the yard with my pals

  • Training needs

Please be patient with me, I need to learn lead walking and house manners.

  • Medical issues

I am underweight and would benefit from good nutrition (and lots of treats!)

22-07-25 Ophelia is one of several dogs rescued from a home in heartbreaking conditions. Their elderly owner, struggling with mental health issues, was overwhelmed, and the home had become dirty and unmanageable. Though not intentionally mistreated, the dogs went without proper care. Now safe with us, they're finally experiencing love and stability.

Ophelia is a shy and sensitive girl who finds comfort and reassurance in the company of other dogs. She looks to her kennel mates for confidence, often waiting for their lead before coming forward for affection. But once she realises your hands are kind, she's happy to stay for a gentle fuss and enjoys a soft stroke or scratch.

To help her continue building confidence, Ophelia will need a calm, kind, and confident resident dog in her new home, someone she can learn from as she adjusts to life in a home. As she may not have learned the basics like house training or lead walking, having a canine companion will be an important part of her journey.

She’s looking for a quiet, adult-only home with patient, understanding adopters who can give her the time she needs to settle in at her own pace. With the right support and a little encouragement, Ophelia has so much potential to blossom into a loving and loyal companion.

Ophelia is underweight at the moment and missing fur in places, but with good nutrition she should start to fill out. She is currently being treated for worms.

We believe that in the right home, this beautiful girl will come out of her shell and thrive.

We are currently accepting applications for Ophelia, however, please note that she will not be ready to go to her new home just yet. She still requires further assessment and treatment from our veterinary team to ensure she is in the best possible health before adoption.
