Rust has been in foster since 23rd January and is well used to household sights and sounds, although she is wary of the vacuum cleaner. She is part of the gang, adores fusses but does not as yet play with toys. In the last 10 days Rust has started walking on a lead and enjoys her outings with the other dogs. She is not worried by traffic, people or others dogs when she's out. She is not cat tested.
Rust is a beautiful, gentle soul and will need a resident dog to give her confidence

Rust – A Gentle Soul Looking for a Patient and Loving Home
Rust is a beautiful little girl who has come to us from a breeder and is still finding her feet in the world. She is a worried girl who takes comfort in the presence of other dogs and prefers to watch from the background rather than come forward for attention. However, despite her worries, Rust craves love and enjoys being close to her trusted humans once she feels safe and really enjoys a gentle fuss.
Since arriving in foster, Rust has made progress in small but meaningful ways. She is unbothered by household noises and activities and is slowly gaining confidence. She loves snuggling up on the sofa and being near her fosterer, showing just how affectionate she wants to be. She is learning all about toilet training and is almost completely house trained. She can now walk on a lead and harness and really enjoys going for walks with her canine friends!
She will need a calm and quiet home with a kind and confident resident dog to show her the way and help her feel secure. Rust enjoys the company of other dogs, both male and female, and takes comfort in their presence. She is a gentle soul who just needs time, love, and understanding to flourish. She has spent time with her fosterers grandchildren and enjoyed their company, so we would consider homing her with dog savvy teenagers who would allow her to settle in at her own pace.
If you have experience with nervous dogs and the patience to help Rust blossom, she will reward you with endless love and loyalty. She is waiting for that special someone to take a chance on her.
Rust's Diary

Rust is the sweetest girl, she loves laying on your lap and being close to you. She is eating well and is a good weight, toilet training is improving but she is still very nervous when a lead is attached to her collar or harness, refusing to move. I will keep trying to build her confidence by just standing in the garden, fussing her, while holding her on a lead. Household sounds and activities do not bother her. Rust will need a resident dog in her forever home to show her the ropes and build her confidence. She enjoys the company of the other dogs in her foster home, both male and female. I hope someone will have the patience to help this girl thrive.

Rust has been in foster with me for a week now and has settled in really well, not being bothered by household sounds and activities.
Toilet training is ongoing, she doesn't willingly go out in the garden, even with her playmates, she has to be persuaded, much preferring the comfort of the house. Rust loves being with you and having a cuddle on the sofa. She craves a fuss but is still nervous. At this stage she will not tolerate a harness and lead, she just freezes, its still very early days. Rust has started to put on weight now. She is an absolute delight and will need a kind resident dog in her forever home to show her the ropes -
Rust is a pretty little girl that has come to us from a breeder, she is a very worried about her surroundings and quite unsure to find herself here at the moment. Rust is very nervous and likes to stick in the back of her kennel with her kennel friends rather than coming forward for a fuss. Rust will need a very calm environment with no children to help her settle as she is a flight risk and will need a secure garden and experience adopters who know how scared she might be. Rust will need another dog to help her with the nerves and settling in period, another dog will also help her learn house skills as she may have never lived in one before. House skills such as toilet training, lead walking and also getting used to sounds such as the TV and hoover will be needed to help her thrive. Rust has had two teeth removed while with us. Rust is a lost little soul waiting for someone to take a chance on her.
