Dear Kuddles is turning into a cheeky monkey in foster: running off with my shoes, but not chewing them. She is full of life and getting adventurous, following my naughty retriever in the secure fields. But after a while looks for her foster mum and returns. She is always happy to rest while we work, read or watch tv and she is fine when she is left with one of her best friends for up to 3 hours and stands at the windows with her friend when she hears the car return. Kuds loves sideways pats and rubbing down with a towel, but is still slightly worried face on, unless of course you have a treat. She has a good recall in the fields. Kuddles couldn't be an easier house guest, but definitely needs a pal for reassurance

Kuddles the Kind-Hearted Clown is Ready for Her Happy Ever After
Kuddles is a 6-year-old Boxer cross who came to us from a breeder, and while she may look a little older, she’s proving there’s still plenty of sparkle in her step. This sweet girl had never lived in a home before arriving at Many Tears, so everything about life outside kennels was brand new to her. With each passing day in foster care, Kuddles is learning, growing, and showing more of her wonderfully quirky personality.
When she first arrived, Kuddles was scared, unsure, and overwhelmed by the noise and confusion of kennel life. But slowly, with the help of her foster family and the companionship of her doggy friends, she’s begun to open up. Now, Kuddles enjoys gentle fuss, loves a soft towel rub, and even gets cheeky, trotting off with her foster mum’s shoes (though never chewing them!). She’s discovering what it means to be safe, loved, and a little bit silly.
Kuddles sleeps soundly through the night, is fully house trained, and has a good recall in secure fields. She’s gaining confidence on the lead and is happy to walk with another dog, or on her own with a bit of encouragement. She’s still startled by some things, like sudden noises or gates, but recovers quickly and continues to make progress each week.
Kuddles is looking for a calm, understanding adult-only home with at least one kind, confident male dog to be her friend and guide. She’s not comfortable around female dogs, so her canine companions will need to be boys. She can be left for a few hours with a doggy friend and will patiently wait by the window for your return.
She has been treated for a sore, ulcerated ear canal, which has now healed well, but this would likely be considered a pre-existing condition by most pet insurance providers. While she may have the face of a wise old soul, she still plays, runs, and follows the fun, especially when one of her foster siblings leads the way.
Kuddles has come such a long way, from a shut-down, frightened girl to a curious, cheeky companion who is finally discovering the joy of life. She’s still on her journey, but with the right home, she will blossom into the most loyal and loving friend you could wish for.
If you’ve got room in your heart for a gentle, funny, deeply deserving girl who just needs time, kindness, and a canine pal to help her feel safe, please consider giving Kuddles the forever home she’s been waiting for.
She really is one of a kind.
To help Kuddles find her perfect forever home, we will waive her adoption fee and so she is available for adoption by a donation fee of your choosing.

Meet Kuddles (yes, with a K… because she’s special like that)
Once an ex-breeding boxer-type, Kuddles has had a rough life - the kind that leaves you with deep wrinkles, a missing dental plan, and the overall vibe of someone who’s been through it. Think “boxer by breed, grandma by face.”
When she arrived, her personality could only be described as… well, goldfish-adjacent. Expressionless, confused, and mildly offended by the concept of humans. As for a shot at Miss Canine World? Kuddles didn’t just miss the pageant - she didn’t even make it to the bus.
She’s got about three teeth in her lower jaw and a face some say only a mother could love (unfortunately, her mother is unavailable for comment). Thousands of people scroll the rescue site, and not one has stopped to ask about her. Not one. Except Sylvia. And Sylvia got so sad about that, she demanded we waive her adoption fee - donation of your choice - just so someone, anyone, would give this girl a shot.
Since being in foster, Kuddles has discovered this thing called “love,” and while she doesn’t quite get how it works yet, she’s intrigued. She’s a project dog, for sure - but you’ll be a project for her too. A mutual learning curve of awkward affection, suspicious side-eyes, and eventual companionship.
We’re told she’s six. We’re also told avocados are a fruit, so who knows.
If you have room in your heart and home for the dog that time forgot (but who deserves the world), please consider Kuddles. Because somewhere under those jowls, there’s a little dog just waiting to figure life out - with you.

Kuddles is clean in the house and is crated just at night. She happily runs around our secure field and garden with the other dogs. She walks on the lead beside any of the resident dogs and will walk alone with a little coaxing. Kuddles now eats out of a bowl. She still barks as we come down the stairs, but soon stops. She is still easily startled by random things. Kuddles is fine with visitors, though cautious, as she is with us. If she is uncertain ie. putting on her coat, she goes down. She does not run and never snaps, even though she is worried. Kuddles is very wary of gates, but 100% better than she was. Her recall is good, but not perfect and she is ok when left with one of her friends.
This kind, gentle dog is so deserving of a quiet, peaceful, but active life now and definitely needs a relaxed , happy boyfriend or 2!

Kuddles has progressed in leaps and bounds this week. She sleeps all through the night, is completely clean in the house and doesn't mind the TV, washing machine or hoover. She only darts away if a metal bucket or watering can are accidentally kicked but she is soon back. Kuddles is starting to walk on the lead in the field using a harness and is very good at having her nasal folds cleaned.

Kuddles has been in foster here with my 4 big dogs for 7 days and is definitely starting to trust. She is also playing a bit with the others. However around food time she becomes scared and will only eat off of the floor. She will drink water from the bowl and will take a treat from our hands. She is house trained. Kuddles has not met any cats or children. She doesn't appear to be a flight risk, but I keep a trailing lead on her and haven't tried lead walking yet. She looks old, but her teeth are white and she wants to join in the games of my young dogs, so I think it's right that she is just about to turn 6. Kuddles is slightly taller than a staffie and really is the sweetest little dog who just needs time and definitely a male companion dog.

Kuddles has been treated for a sore and ulcerated ear canal, but this is now looking much better and she is doing well.

Kuddles is the most beautiful girl who has come to us from a breeder, ready to start her new life. She is a very sweet girl but is very scared and overwhelmed to find herself here and is very frightened by all the noises and will cower to the ground. Once she gets to know you, she will gently approach you for a little fuss and seems to enjoy this. We think with time, love and patience she will soon start to come out of her shell and really start to blossom.
Kuddles will be looking for a calm and quiet home, with adopters who have plenty of time to spend with her. She will need another kind and confident male resident dog in her new home to take her under their wing and help her to learn all about her new life. She doesn't like to share her space with female dogs, so all dogs in her new home would need to be male. She has never lived in a home before so her adopters will need to be kind and understanding as she settles in and learns all about home life and new skills like house training.
Kuddles is a beginner to walking on a lead and will need some more practice to master this, but we think she is going to love going for walks with her new family. It's Kuddle's birthday at the end of February and we really hope she's adopted in time to celebrate this in her forever home, so please don't leave her waiting too long!
