Blizzard has settled into kennel life surprisingly well, especially considering how frightened she was when she first arrived. She's a gentle soul who now walks on the lead to and from the yard. Outside the rescue, she can walk calmly so long as it’s quiet and nothing unexpected is happening. Loud noises and sudden movements still terrify her.
Blizzard will need a very special home, one filled with patience, understanding, and time. She isn’t ready for busy walks or new adventures just yet. Her journey will likely begin with simply getting used to home life and gently exploring the garden. That alone could take weeks or months.
Due to a missing toe, Blizzard isn’t looking for an active household. Long walks or lots of activity cause her discomfort, and it wouldn’t be fair or enjoyable for her.
She needs someone who won’t expect her to become their best friend overnight. Earning her trust will be a slow process that could take years, but the bond you’ll build will be incredibly rewarding. We will never know what she’s been through, but it’s clear that her past left scars. Still, Blizzard is more than deserving of a loving home, and until that home comes, we’ll continue to care for her with all the love she needs.
Blizzard

Blizzard is a beautiful, fluffy Husky who has come to us from a breeder to find her forever home. She was a very scared girl when she first arrived with us and is still very nervous and unsure of the world around her. She’s learning, slowly, that humans can be kind, but this will take time, patience, and a calm and quiet, adult only home.
She relies heavily on her kennel friends for confidence, so will need a calm and confident resident dog in her new home to help her settle and feel safe. Despite her fears, Blizzard is gentle and easy to handle, and when she thinks no one is watching, she’ll play bitey face with her kennel friends and shows us a glimpse of the playful dog we know is hiding in there.
Blizzard has never lived in a home before so her adopters will need to be kind and understanding as she settles in to home life and picks up new skills like house training. Her adopters will need to be patient as she begins to settle into a new routine and learns all about the sights and sounds of home life, which she will have never experienced before and will likely find quite worrying at first.
She has learned to walk on a lead since arriving with us, but as she has a missing toe, she isn’t looking for an overly active home, but rather one where she can explore the garden, rest, and continue to gain confidence at her own pace.
Blizzard will need an adult only, experienced home, where love is given patiently and progress is celebrated slowly. The bond you’ll build with her won’t happen overnight, but when it does, it will be truly special.
Blizzard has a travel document.

So Blizzard has been on my section for about 3 weeks now and even though progress has been slow, I can definitely see a difference in her now compared to when I first met her. She is still a very nervous and flighty girl, but I can tell she’s getting more comfortable being in my company AND she also has a playful side that’s starting to emerge!!! When she thinks nobody is around, she plays bitey face and wrestles with her kennel friend which is the cutest thing in the whole world. I stood in the kennel next door to hers yesterday and I watched her as she didn’t know I was there, and it put such a big smile on my face. This gives me hope that in the right home, she will come out of her shell eventually and start doing ‘normal dog’ stuff.
Blizzard’s new home will need to be very calm and quiet, and have a solid routine that she can get used to. Everything will need to be introduced very slowly to her, and her adopters will need to be extremely patient and understanding. Dogs like Blizzard don’t gain confidence overnight - it’s going to take some time and work to gain her trust and show her that the world isn’t as scary as she thinks it is.
Having a kind resident dog that will be her best friend will help massively with a lot of things, but her fear of humans will more than likely take a while to get better. I promise you the journey will be SO worthwhile though. When she wags her tail for the first time, or gives you a kiss for the first time.. there is no better feeling in the world! -
Blizzard has come to us from a breeder to start her new life. She has the sweetest face and so much fluff, but is a very nervous girl at the moment who is very scared to find herself here.
Blizzard relies heavily on her kennel friends for support and so will be looking for a home where there is another kind and confident resident dog to be her friend and help her to settle in. She is trying her best to understand the kindness of human touch and is easy to handle, just very shy. We are working hard with her to help her understand that all we want to give her is love.
Blizzard won't yet approach us and will instead run away and hide in the back of her kennel and so will need kindness and patience as she comes out of her shell.
She will be looking for an adult only home, with adopters who have experience of the breed.
She has never lived in a home before so her adopters will need to be kind and patient as she settles into home life and learns new skills like house training. She has never been for walks before so will need to learn all about lead walking, but once she picks this up we think she is going to love it.
We can see in her eyes how much she wants to be loved, she just needs to be given a chance. She has a travel document.
