  • Human family requirements

I'm very worried and will need a family with ex-breeding experience to help me.

  • Other pet requirements

I will need a kind and confident resident dog to help me settle in.

  • House and garden requirements

I’m frightened and will need a secure home and a garden to learn about being outside.

  • Out and about requirements

I have never walked on a lead and will need to practice around the garden first.

  • Training needs

I have never lived in a home, so I will need to learn all about house training.

  • Medical issues

I have had 4 teeth extracted.

26-02-25 Hazel is a very frightened girl that has come to us from a breeder and is very wary of us humans at the moment. Hazel is such a heart breaker and will try her best to run and hide herself away from you, not to be seen, not to be touched... she just can't understand that she deserves to be loved and is looking for a family who will show her just that - love. She will be looking for a calm and quiet, adult only home with adopters who will offer her lots of TLC as they allow her to settle in at her own pace. Hazel has never lived in a home and will need at least one kind resident dog to look to for assurance as she builds her confidence around people. She will need to learn skills she has never needed before such as how to walk on a lead and house training but the garden may be as scary as the home at first so her adopters need to have plenty of time and patience to help her. Hazel does settle once she is in your arms so we believe that in time and with patience, she will blossom into a beautiful companion.

Hazel's Diary

  • Hazel has been at the rescue for about two months now and she has made so much progress!! She’s no longer the terrified little girl she was when she first arrived, but instead a very happy lady who has quickly learnt to trust us humans. When she knows you and she’s comfortable around you, she’ll greet you with the waggiest tail every time she sees you and will run up to you for fusses and kisses. She loves a little tickle under her ears, but her favourite thing is definitely a bum scratch!! She’ll do a little dance and sometimes get the zoomies afterwards .. it’s so funny bless her.

Hazel has been a busy girl in the time she’s been with us and is already learning how to walk on a harness, what it’s like to have a bath, and she’s met cats too! She’s been such a good girl with everything she’s encountered and I honestly couldn’t be more proud of her.

Even though Hazel has made a lot of progress, I do still think she’ll need a resident dog in her new home so she can copy them and learn from them. Things like house training, going up and down the stairs, and even snuggling on a sofa will all be new for her, so having a friend to show her the ropes will help her massively. She may be a little overwhelmed at first, but with lots of love and patience I really don’t think it will take her too long to settle. So don’t keep this little darling waiting for too much longer!
