A Delicate Girl Learning Life’s Joys

Motto is a 3-year-old Cavapoochon who has come to us from a breeder and is now gently beginning her journey toward a better life. Having never lived in a home before, everything is unfamiliar to her, and while she is curious about the world around her, she still finds human interaction a bit overwhelming.

This sweet little girl is understandably nervous about being approached or handled, but she has already made progress during her time with us. She recently had her very first proper groom, a big moment for her and despite her nerves, she coped beautifully. She’s also started taking treats from caring hands, which is a wonderful step forward in building trust. At first, only chicken would do, but now she’s starting to accept other treats too, which shows how far she’s come.

Motto is looking for a calm and gentle home where there is at least one kind, confident resident dog to help her feel safe and show her the ropes. A friendly canine companion will be essential in helping her learn about house training, lead walking, and all the little things that come with living in a home. Her adopters will need to introduce her to the world slowly and with great patience, letting her take things at her own pace.

Motto has been treated for an ear infection, and has recovered well.

She is a delicate soul who simply needs a quiet environment, lots of TLC, and someone willing to help her discover that life can be filled with warmth, safety, and love. With the right support, Motto has every chance to blossom into the beautiful, happy companion she was always meant to be.

Motto's Diary

  • Motto after her haircut

Motto had a haircut this week!!! Doesn’t she look absolutely beautiful? She was getting a bit warm with her big thick coat in the sun, so we decided it was time for a summer trim. She was done by our lovely volunteer groomers and even though she was nervous, she did really well .. especially considering it was probably her first ever proper groom!

Motto has been at the rescue for 2 months now and even though she definitely has made progress, she is still worried about us humans and our scary hands. Being picked up and handled is still quite a worry for her so she will run away when I approach her, but as long as I’m slow and calm with her she does settle eventually. One thing she has started doing the past couple of weeks is taking food from my hands. I know this won’t sound like a lot to most people, but she was too nervous to even come that close to me before, so it’s actually a huge step for her. It started by her only wanting to take high value treats like chicken from me, but she’ll now come forward for anything which is lovely.

Motto will definitely still need a calm and kind resident dog in her new home, and adopters who have all the time and patience in the world to settle her in. She’s never been in a home before so I do think she probably will be quite overwhelmed at first, but having a nice doggy friend to follow around and copy will help her massively. Her adopters will need to give her lots of time and TLC, and introduce her to new things slowly. The world is a scary place as Motto knows it, so she just needs to be shown that it’s not all bad. I hope it can happen for her soon.

  • Motto has come to us from a breeder, ready to start her new life and find her forever home. She is a sweet and curious little girl who is interested in her new surroundings. She is a little overwhelmed to find herself here at the moment and is quite worried about being handled, but does soon settle in your arms after you've been holding her for a little while. She is a very sweet girl, she just needs lots of love and kindness as she settles in and builds confidence. Motto will be looking for a clam and quiet home where there was at least one other kind and confident resident dog to be her friend and help her to settle in. She has never lived in a home before so her adopters will need to be kind and understanding as she learns all about home life as well as new skills like house training and how to walk on a lead. With TLC and a gentle resident dog to copy, we don't think it will take too long for her to settle in and realise just how wonderful her life can be now.
