23-03-25 Jem has come to us from a breeder and is a shy but lovely girl who really wants to be your friend but isn't quite confident enough to approach us yet. Jem is a very gentle soul and has the sweetest nature and although she is nervous about being approached she allows us to pick her up and with a gentle fuss starts to relax.

Jem needs a home where there is at least one other dog to help her confidence and kind, gentle and patient adopters who understand she will need time to settle into her new life.  She will watch her new canine friend(s) and start to copy what they do and which will help her learn new skills like house training and lead walking. These may take her a little time to learn but with love, gentle words of encouragement and praise Jem's adopters will see her become a happy girl who will return their love tenfold.

Jem arrived here with a wart on her face which our vet has removed and some hot spots on the base of her ears, possibly caused by scratching her ears as they were dirty, but they have now been cleaned and treated. She also has an overbite, which doesn't seem to bother her. Jems front legs are quite bowed, which our vet believes is due to a previous injury and this does cause her to walk with a limp. It doesn't cause her any issues currently but her adopters would need to be aware that should she need treatment in the future it would not be covered by insurance.
