Risky is a beautiful and gentle girl who has continued to surprise us with her quiet courage and blossoming personality. Although she only recently moved into a foster home, she is already showing us just how much love she has to give.

When Risky first came to us from a breeder, she was incredibly nervous and unsure of the world around her. Human kindness was unfamiliar, and she found comfort only in the company of other dogs. But since arriving in foster, Risky has made truly heartwarming progress.

She has settled beautifully and is starting to show her playful side. Her joyful zoomies in the garden are a delight to see, and she now actively seeks out the company of her fosterer for comfort and affection. Risky finds great reassurance in gentle, kind humans, and while she can still be wary of sudden movements or touch, she is learning that being loved is a wonderful thing.

Risky is doing well with housetraining so far and has taken to lead walking with surprising confidence. She trots along happily, enjoying her walks and the chance to sniff the world around her. She is good with the resident cat and shows a gentle, respectful nature and could be homed with a dog-savvy cat.

Her foster has noticed that when meeting other dogs, she may initially seem worried, especially with larger dogs, but she settles once she feels safe. While she has always drawn confidence from other dogs, she is now showing signs that she could potentially be rehomed as an only dog, provided her adopter is home most of the time and can offer her the companionship and reassurance she needs.

Risky is still learning about home life and will need a calm, patient, and understanding home. A garden where Risky can relax in the sun and settle into her new home would be ideal! She has been introduced to going on walks and seems to be taking this in stride and would love a few quiet walks with plenty of cuddle time with her new family!

Risky originally came to us with an ear infection, which she has now completed treatment for and is in good health. As her coat grows back from the severe haircut she arrived with, we know she will soon be as stunning on the outside as she is on the inside.

Risky is a very special little girl who is taking brave steps every day. With kind hearts, a quiet home, and lots of love, she will continue to blossom into the happy, cherished companion she was always meant to be.

Risky's Diary

  • Despite only joining me in foster yesterday, Risky has settled in beautifully. Risky is a little ray of sunshine, and her zoomies around the garden are just adorable. Whilst initially wary of her new surroundings, she finds me most comforting and will follow me around and loves a snuggle.

She is fantastic with my cat, they happily coexist. She walks well on a lead, she loves a sniff and trots along beautifully. Initially when she meets dogs she is unsure and can growl or bark, however, she soon settles and is happy to be around other dogs. She prefers small dogs (her size and smaller) as she finds bigger dogs scary.

There is the potential for her to go as an only dog if someone is home most of the time as she loves human company. She can be wary of touch, but as long as you give her time and pick her up slowly, she is easy to handle.

She’s been clean so far in the house but of course it’s early days so may be a work in progress. She has completed her ear infection treatment and is so ready for her forever home!

  • Risky is doing really well and already we can see improvements in her confidence. She has gone from being very scared, to being brave enough to come up and say hello and even put her paws on us to reach up for a tasty treat. This shows us that Risky is trying her hardest and really wants to make friends, and in a loving, patient home where she can truly relax and with the love and affection of her people we are certain she will thrive.

Risky is still looking for a home where she will have a doggie companion to help show her the way. This sweet girls ideal home, will be a quiet adult home with a garden to play in and lovely, gentle humans to spoil her and doggie friend to play and snuggle with.

  • Risky is a nervous girl who has come to us from a breeder. She is a pretty girl who arrived here with a severe hair cut but once this grows back and she has a proper groom she is going to be stunning. Risky is not used to being handled yet and is quite worried about humans at the moment. Once she is in our arms and realises we are going to be gentle with her she settles and accepts a soft stroke.

Risky will need a home where there is at least one other dog to be her friend and who will allow her to cuddle up with them for comfort and support if she wants to. She will watch what they do and then start to copy them which will help her with house training as she has never lived in a home before.

Risky will need to learn about how to walk on a lead as at the moment this is far too scary for her to even consider but with time, love and patience she will gradually start to realise she is loved and there is nothing to fear and her adopter will be rewarded with a devoted forever friend.

Risky is being treated for a ear infection.
