Jack – The Biggest Little Man Looking for His Next Adventure
Jack is a 2-year-old Jack Russell Terrier cross Manchester Terrier with a heart as bold as his brain is brilliant. Given up from a home, Jack was living with children, but was not suited to that lifestyle. He’s now searching for people who truly understand what it means to live with a high-energy, highly intelligent terrier.
Jack is clever, busy, and always up for a challenge. He’s been described as quiz-show-contestant smart, the kind of dog who’d master agility, flyball, or search-and-retrieve work in no time if given the chance. He’s ball-mad, quick to learn, and needs a home that can channel his big brain and bigger energy into something purposeful.
He’s displayed some guarding behaviour in the past and can become overwhelmed and end up nipping if not given space and structure. For this reason, Jack needs an adult-only home with confident, experienced adopters who can continue to guide him with calm leadership and positive training. He’s a loving, loyal boy who thrives on routine, boundaries, and fun.
Jack gets along well with other dogs and could live with a playful canine companion, but he also has the confidence to be an only dog. What matters most is that his adopters are tuned into his needs and ready to offer him the active, enriched lifestyle he’s been craving.
Having come from a home, Jack already knows the basics of home life, though he may need a little refresher as he settles in. He's crate-trained, loves his walks, and can keep himself entertained for hours, especially if there’s a ball involved!
Jack is truly one of a kind. He’s the “biggest little man” you’ll ever meet, and with the right home, he’ll absolutely shine. If you think you can be the person who helps Jack write his next chapter, please fill out an application. This little legend is waiting for his hero.

Jack's Diary

Jack is an extremely intelligent busy and motivated dog. He is ball obsessed; therefore, you’d have a very easy lure for training. With an experienced handler this dog could be a top-class agility or flyball dog, but he’s not straight forwards. 53 other rescues said no and with no offer of a space he was doomed to die, however, his owner who just was not experienced enough for a dog like Jack, who had really tried, just could not stop trying for him, even though he and his wife knew that with a young family this just was not working.
Jack finally got his break as he was needing a space so urgently. I know he won't find a home easily, he is very busy, he’s been bored so chases shadows to amuse himself. There are some great trainers out there who would understand Jack's motivation and put it to good use, and this would make him a contented boy. So if you are one of those people how about fostering Jack and getting him started on the road to happiness? -
Jack is 2 years old, larger than life, and has energy for days!!! He is super smart - like quiz-show-contestant smart. Like, quiz-show-contestant smart. The kind of dog who would phone a friend, use his 50/50, and still win the jackpot then spend the earnings on tennis balls and tactical harnesses
This little guy has a heart of gold, and a big one at that. But don’t be fooled, behind all that charisma is a clever little strategist who needs an adult home with a human who knows the rules of the game. If you don’t make a plan, Jack will make one for you. His previous family truly loved him but as their lives changed, they made the heartbreaking decision to find Jack a home where he’d be the centre of someone’s world again.
According to Jack’s previous owners, he has displayed some resource guarding around his toys and has given the occasional nip when feeling overwhelmed or unsure.
Jack has the confidence to be homed as an only dog, he can also live with other dogs who can play for hours with him, can keep up with his rambunctious energy, and be the bestest friend to him. He needs purpose, enrichment, and someone who knows their way around a smart, active terrier mix. We are told that Jack displayed some behaviours in the home that required training and set boundaries that will need to be continued in his new home.
He’ll need an adult only, calm, confident home with experienced adopters who can continue the great work that’s already been done. With the right guidance, structure, and understanding, he’ll continue to thrive, because underneath it all, he’s a fantastic, loving dog who just needed a bit of help to feel safe and secure.
Having lived in a home all his life, Jack is desperately seeking home comforts again. A home who can offer him what he needs to absolutely thrive and be the bestest boy we know he can be. Let’s not keep him waiting any longer.
