09-11-24 Sweep is a sweet little chap who is only 3m old. He hasnt had much human interaction so far in his little life and so he is rather spicy! He will hiss and spit away trying to make himself look all big and tough as he is frightened. We will get better photos when he is more settled. He will need lots of kindness and TLC to help him understand that his life can be so much better than he thinks it is. He will need lots of handling and socialisation to help him relax and settle down. Sweep has so much potential and could be homed with one of his siblings or by himself. He can be homed with older children who appreciate how frightened he is and that they could accidentally get scratched whilst he settles. He will need to be neutered and not allowed outside until this is done as cats mature very swiftly and we dont wany any unplanned litters that will add to the unwanted cat population

Sweep has been at the rescue a few weeks now and is settling to routine and is slowly realising that humans are not as bad as he thinks. Even though he is small, Sweep has a very BIG personality . He is not being as spicy and has slowed down the hissing and spitting. He is slowly coming out of his shell and has started waiting at the kennel door for his food. And coming to explore outside of his bed to play. We have started to visit him as much as we can to handle him. And he is slowly getting used to human hands and understanding we are friends and not foe. Once picked up he does settle in your arms and even though vocal he does enjoy having fuss and you can see on his little face that he likes it! . He just doesn't understand our intentions. He adores his sibling and takes great comfort in him. Him and his sibling "Swoop" can definatly be homed together. Being black, these kittens are very over looked.
