20-12-2017 Angel is a 3 year old ex-breeding beagle.  She is extremely nervous and needs a quiet without children who would overwhelm her.  She will need at least one other dog in her new home to help her confidence with people and this will help her with house training and lead walking.  However these things will not happen overnight and she needs owners with the time, love and patience to helpp her and who really understand her fears.

15-01-18 UPDATE

The only trouble with working at Many Tears is that I fall in love frequently... so many beautiful dogs all needing a chance! For the past few weeks I have had this gorgeous little beagle on my section and seen her grow in confidence and decided today to take her home to foster.
Angel was nervous coming home with me but travelled really well and was welcomed into my "pack" with absolutely no issues. My other foster beagle Chanie has taken her under her wing, it was if to say "it is okay here..I will help you" ❤
Angel is quite small for a beagle and very pretty... she has had a good sniff around, what beagles do best, and is curled up with Chanie in a bed by the radiator.  day one in the beagle house (I have two beagles of my own)... let's see what day two brings 😃 this space!

02-03-18 UPDATE
It has been a few weeks now in the Beagle house and Angel is slowly getting to grips with life outside kennels. She is a very dainty, pretty  girl with not a bad bone in her body. House training is coming along with fewer accidents but still not comfortable enough to "go " on walk yet. She is comfortable in the garden though..
Angel is a busy girl, after being denied a puppyhood I expected her to want to explore everything which she has with enthusiasm. This has created no problems as I am home most of the time but if I do have to leave her for a few hours I have used a crate which has not been an issue.
We have walked on a lead and harness around the local streets and then on a long lead and harness "beagling " through local countryside. She is a pleasure to walk, meeting other dogs and people with interest, travelling well in the car.
Angel has got on with my my assorted "pack well but think a dog of a similar age would be good as she likes to play.
This delightful little girl is so affectionate, she has developed a strong bond with me and gives the most amazing cuddles. She loves my grandson who is 6 and my visiting daughters and will actively seek them out for attention. Unfortunately she is not so comfortable around adult males. This is not uncommon but with time and patience  she will learn they are not all bad...when out walking she does not mind men but at home, in an enclosed space this is more of an issue.
Angel's needs are not huge - a loving home with "Mum " being the main carer for now and around most of the time, older or quiet children( is there such a thing?  ) a resident  dog to show her how to be a "grown up" and lots and lots of love and patience. Angel by name...Angel by nature. She has stolen our hearts...if you give her a chance she will steal yours

01-05-18 UPDATE
Angel is continuing her education on the "outside" of kennels and is loving life to the full. She truely has the beagle capacity to explore...  everything..  she is a delightful but busy girl!
To recap she walks beautifully on a lead in hand and when exploring we use a harness and long lead.. Recall is being worked on (slowly)
Angel is clean in the house but if we visit family we have to watch the rugs.. this is quite normal with dogs who have lived in kennels all their lives (I have wooden floors). She sleeps all night on my bed and is a wonderful hot water bottle.
Travelling in the car is a treat..she will jump in for a reward now but really likes to "shot gun" so she can look out the window but still be close to Mum.
Angel is a tiny, gorgeous little beagle filled with all the wonderful traits of her breed but she needs a special home where she will be appreciated. A home with other dogs is needed but Angel really loves to play..big dogs...small dogs she gets them all to play so a likeminded dog is needed. This girl really is special.. one of her ears is much smaller than the other and my kids say it is her "lucky" ear...we have been so lucky to have her in our lives...will she make you lucky to.

26-06-18 UPDATE

Life is good for a tiny "beag" with a lucky tiny ear
Lil Ang makes me smile everyday with her antics...which is just as well as she can be quite...shall we say mischievous! As long as she has her hour run around, to take the itch out of her feet she is great but she does get bored easily and if there is too much energy then "look out. This little girl loves life and lives it to the full so needs someone home most of the time or she could be taken with them, Angel loves a road trip, but also playful doggo friend/friends to play with. It is a pleasure to see the delight on her face when playing after being denied a puppyhood.
I have spoken to our vet in Many Tears as was concerned that Angel doesn't hear properly. The conclusion is that she must have had an injury to her ear when very young which has caused nerve damage which has resulted in her hearing being compromised. The only way this really effects her is recall when out, at home or in a enclosed area she is fine but she can't hear me from a distance so we use a long lead and harness which she is fab on.
Angel is clean in the house now and generally when visiting, travels well in the car, good with kids and other dogs, loves her food but no aggression what so ever.
One issue we still have is strangers coming to the house, she is still very nervous then although when out and about she seems more confident.
As they get out of something how ever much you put into it...You would be rewarded ten times over with our darling baby beag, but you need to have experience of nervous dogs with compromised hearing...special home needed for an extra special dog

29-08-18 UPDATE

Angel continues her education on the "outside...she loves to go out exploring, being a busy girl this is a must for her so an active home is required. She travels well in the car, walks well on the lead, both slip and long lead but does pull a bit.( Angel is quite small so no danger of being pulled over).
She is very affectionate with people she knows but is still wary of strangers...we have had a break through with my son though and she "tolerates" his presence now...a work in progress. Angel loves to play so will need at least one other dog( or more) of a similar age to keep her entertained.

16-10-18 UPDATE

Angel continues her life on the "outside " of kennels She is a delightful, busy little beagle who loves life, dogs and most humans. ( still not keen on some males but we are working on it).
We are working on recall which is very much a work in progress, if she can see me she will come come back but if out of eyesight this is a concern. I have one dog whose recall is amazing and if Angel is chasing her I will let go of the lead knowing she will chase Lily back to me...otherwise I keep hold of the lead
Angel needs a knowledgable home with experience with beagles and dogs with hearing difficulties. She gives the most amazing cuddles, no respect of personal space just planting herself on top of you
She has come so far from the tiny, scared beagle I brought home earlier this year..we love the dog she is becoming!

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

Although ANGEL is by donation rather than the full adoption fee, we ask for a minimum donation of £100 to help cover the costs that have been incurred. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
