22-04-20 Annalize is a Northern Inuit Cross who originally came to us from a breeder quite some time ago. Poor Annalize has had a tough time, when she arrived with us we discovered that not only was she completely blind, but she was also pregnant. She moved straight to a foster home to raised her babies and recieve some much needed TLC. Sadly, she recently developed an ulcer in one eye and had to have it removed - but she is so much happier following this.
When Annalize arrived her fur was matted and her skin was red raw, but with time and love from her fosterers she is now looking amazingly fluffy again and her skin has healed. Annalize will need another kind resident dog in her new home and owners who are around all of the time.

Beautiful Annalize has not found her forever adopted home yet, after so very long in a foster home. She first came here after having puppies in foster, after being found to be pregnant after arriving at the rescue. She had lived her life on a chain and her neck was red raw when we took her into foster, and it took a long time to heal, but it did heal well.
Since being in foster she has had one eye removed and there is a possibility she may in time - need the other one removing, so please be aware of the cost as this would not be covered by insurance.
Annalise needs another dog or two in her new home as she would not cope on her own. She adores cats too and would love it if she had cat brothers or sisters!
She has to have someone around all the time really - as she has to know her humans are close or she gets very upset even when you are in bed! She currently sleeps in a room with the other dogs, but I'm in a room separated from hers with only a stair gate, so she knows I'm only feet away from her.
Annalize is not totally house-trained after 2 years so we don't see that changing, she will be clean most of the time in the day as long as you let her out at regular intervals. She nearly always toilets inside at night though, so you would have to accept that if you were to adopt her.
Annalize cannot be crated as she hates being restrained in ANY way. This also comes into play when she is in a room, she has to be able to walk around the house freely and if you close a door she will scratch at it, so this needs to be considered in lots of scenarios day to day and how you would manage this for her to be free.
There is a lot to tell you about Annalize and she is a very big part of anyone's life in many many ways, SHE doesn't live with you - YOU live with HER!
I have to go now as she has dug another hole in the garden she's certainly one heck of a girl !

14-05-21 UPDATE

Thank you to Andrew Lamnea Photography for taking some lovely photos of Annalize!
Annalize is hoping the good and dry weather will come back as she doesn't like getting her feet wet, and even less getting them dried! Annalize is in the dog house at the moment as she's dug three new holes in the garden, she's a right naughty monkey! Annalize is - as you can see a beautiful fluffy dog but she does take some looking after, as any large blind dog of her breed can, and she has to have her humans around all the time or gets stresse. There are lots of things to know about her routine which we will discuss at length with any intrested applicants of course. Well Annalize is ready for her groom now, so I'm off for today, bye everyone!

27-05-21 UPDATE
Annalize is going to have a bath today, not sure how well that's going to go!
We went out on a lovely walk earlier and she really loved sniffing the grass and hedgerows, she likes to go where she can take her time as she is a very nervous girl at times being blind, and we only let her off in a totally enclosed secure space and even then - you have to be careful because if she takes off running she can bump into something and hurt herself.
She is in the kitchen where it's cool today as she doesn't like the heat much, only for a quick in and out walk round the gardens here, she loves - lying in her day bed though in the cool kitchen with the door open and the breeze blowing in her fur, what a PRINCESS !

03-06-21 UPDATE

Annalize has been finding it hard to settle in the heat, so the big fan is out just for her as well as the small top windows open at night. It's much cooler today so we went for a walk.  She has her bed in the cool tiled kitchen in the day.  We have filled in the holes she has dug in the garden again - wonder how long they will last filled in this time! Another groom is on the cards later as she is so very very fluffy! She's not a fan of being groomed but it's a necessity or she gets matted.

29-10-21 UPDATE
The nights are drawing in and Annalize is starting to take herself into bed at nightime before I even call her! She has a bed in the living room or her other bed in the hall and likes to alternate between them as she is a princess after all!
She's such a funny girl with a extremely stubborn streak like most husky type dogs but also a sweet temperament. She takes a LOT of grooming but for once having a thick coat is good - as it keeps her warm in this wet and windy weather, but you have to get things right for her as she overheats easily - so it's a daily task to make sure wherever she is she's cool and comfy.
She is a very special girl in every way and needs a specific home.

19-11-21 UPDATE
Annalise needs a very - specific home, so please read all her profile very carefully as she's a full time commitment as lovely looking and sweet as she is! You need plenty of room for her to move about freely too - or she's gets stressed and cries.
Annalise needs to be homed with another calm happy, totally  chilled out companion, who won't mind her her tripping over them or bumping into them sometimes. A home with several other  dogs would not be a good match unless you have a large property and land like a smallholding but, as I say, she definitely needs one companion for sure and if you have any cats that would be amazing as she adores cats! Annalise is a beautiful old girl inside and out.

04-12-21 UPDATE
Christmas is coming and I bet Annalize is dreaming of food, she raided the bin the other day and took her stolen container out into the garden to lick!
Annalize is VERY food obsessed and will eat anything, so you have to make sure your kitchen is Annalize proof !
Had a shock the other morning when going into the living room as Annalize was up on the sofa, now that may not be a surprise to many dog owners, but Annalize has never ever done it since being in foster not even once, she's not done it since either but what a funny girl she is, always one to surprise is Annalize! She's a handful but so sweet natured, a beautiful soul indeed.

19-12-21  UPDATE
Annalise was happy today as she could be out in the garden a lot walking round and lying down by the back door as it was dry for a change! I heard her crying quietly today out the kitchen and I wondered why, so went out to see her, she was ok so I thought for a minute and  then realised -  it was dinnertime and I was late getting it! She definitely can tell the time . It's going to be so lovely to feed her some Christmas dinner,  she especially likes pigs in blankets so I've bought a few packs in for her! Happy Christmas sweet girl!

07-01-22 UPDATE
Annalize loved her Christmas dinner SO much surprise surprise-  NOT ! Think the pigs in blankets were her favourite thing though ha ha . This cold weather doesn't bother Annalise like it does us humans  , as she hates being hot probably because of her coat I'm guessing ! Madam has started getting up very early again for some reason,  and I am trying to figure out why , she can be a single minded dog at times for sure .
She's also started to come into the living room again and getting up in my chair when it's dinnertime,  just to remind me it's dinnertime in  case I forget the time of course !
Annalize is one special girl who needs a specific home- but she is so so sweet - she's worth it,  you have to be committed to her though 100%  to make it work for her - and yourself .

20-01-22 UPDATE
Annalize is going back outside to lie down again the last two days, so the weather must be a little warmer well - for her anyway! She's also started to come back in the living room more again, she is a very funny dog as she will do and like certain things for a long long time, then suddenly she wants to do it differently and you have to work with it or she cries.
It's time for another good groom soon so better get to it! If you are thinking of applying for Annalize please please read all of her write ups to fully understand the commitment that is needed to live with a dog like her, as beautiful as she is she needs someone completely able to support her in every way.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

All dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation* and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

* Many Tears uses Vanguard to vaccinate their dogs.  However, this can sometimes be difficult to source at local vets so if you are adopting a dog or puppy that has only had one vaccination please be aware your vets may require you to start the course from the beginning.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
