If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

19-03-21 Hamper is a beautiful Chow Chow who is looking for a loving home. She has ingrowing eyelashes that our vet will look at and make her eyes more comfortable without her eyelashes hurting her eyes. After assessment with our vet we have discovered that sadly, Hamper is completely deaf. She has a waggy tail and is very interested in all that goes on around her but not sure on being fussed just yet. Hopefully with a little practice she will soon enjoy cuddles and look forward to spending more time with us. As a chow chow, Hamper has huge grooming needs so please do bear this in mind before applying for her. She needs to learn to walk on a lead and learn new skills like housetraining. Hamper needs a calm and quiet home without children at this point to help her adjust to her new way of life. In time she will transform like a butterfly.

29-04-21 UPDATE

Hamper is now enjoying her life in a warm and loving foster home, she has settled in very well to the routine and the big bowls of warm and tasty food. Hamper’s health is improving daily, and she enjoys lying in the sun which I think helps soothe her stiff joints. Hamper has never had any exercise previously and her muscle tone is very weak which in turn is hindering her stiff joints and she is quite arthritic at the moment. She is on Yumove and getting daily pain relief.
Hamper is a pleasure to have in the home, fully house trained, sleeps a lot, and has not barked once - absolutely no trouble at all. She is unable to go on your dog walks at the moment so a home where there is someone around most of the time would be nice for her, although she can be left alone for short periods, and she can’t do stairs so maybe a bungalow or a home where the dogs would sleep downstairs with her.
Hamper has a very waggy tail and is so pleased to see you but she is still shy to be touched, this is improving. Boisterous children would be too much for this gentle girl. I’m going to wave my magic wand and hopefully just the right application will come in for this beautiful girl!

25-05-21 UPDATE
Hamper is sooo sweet. She is curious and will follow me around the house to see what I'm doing, especially if it involves cooking!
She loves the garden and will sit on the grass outside for hours. Other dogs interest her and she is good with them, but she doesn't rely on their support, so she could be an only dog in the right home.
Since she can't join my dogs for long walks, she has been spending a couple of hours every day with just my husband for company and didn't seem to miss other dogs at all. She was also left entirely on her own for about an hour and a half and coped well with it.
Hamper is getting more and more confident every day. I can brush her beautiful coat and put drops in her eyes and she doesn't complain, I think she is starting to enjoy it! She is such an easy dog to have around.
If you want a dog that's quiet, doesn't require much walking, loves her food and rolling in the grass, and just needs someone to care for her and make her life better - then Hamper is your perfect match!

If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation* and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.
* Many Tears uses Vanguard to vaccinate their dogs.  However, this can sometimes be difficult to source at local vets so if you are adopting a dog or puppy that has only had one vaccination please be aware your vets may require you to start the course from the beginning.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
