30-03-2021 Greya was rescued from the streets in Romania about a year ago.  Since then she has been waiting in kennels for her forever home to find her but as she was a big dog, no one came forward.  Now she is here a we are sure there is a wonderful home out there just waiting to find her.  Greya is a really sweet girl who likes to play. Greya would like to be an only dog, as long as her owners were around most of the time. She can be a little sensitive having her underbelly touched, so this is something her new owners will need to be awar eof and work with. She is very friendly with people and we think she is going to make a wonderful friend.  We don't believe Greya has ever lived in a home so she may need house training. Greya does like to bark at our resident goat, so would need to be kept on lead whenever around livestock and we would not home her with cats or small furries. Greya has a passport.

The photo above is of Greya while she was in Romania.

27-04-21 UPDATE

Greya is a big dog. A big heart, a big size and a huge head.
She is powerful yet gentle, strong yet placid.
She wants to jump with her legs up on your shoulders if she can, but is easily told no.
She is over looked.
She would love a special persons love and respect.
She has seen the worst in man and deserves the right to see the best

06-05-21 UPDATE
A gentle giant, Greya is a big bundle of love and an affectionate soul. She is full of energy which she enjoys dispelling on long walks. Her devotion comes in a big, strong package and she will need an owner capable of enduring some enthusiastic pulls on the lead. Greya is unsuitable for anyone that considers themselves fragile in stature, often showing her affection with big hugs. She will also need an owner that reflects her big heart, as Greya would not enjoy being left alone for extended periods.
For somebody looking for a dog that balances strength with emotion, Greya makes the ideal companion.

13-05-21 UPDATE

Greya is in need of an experienced home as she is strong and reactive, not with all dogs, but if she doesn't like a dog then she lets you know. For this reason she is walked on a halti and this will need to continue in her new home.
Greya will need to be safely socialised to avoid her becoming more reactive with dogs, so an experienced person is a must.
When she is with a human she is gorgeous, very loving and attentive.
She will need to be an only dog in the home and can not live with children or cats, teenagers of 16+ would be okay if they are dog savvy.
Greya has come a long way to find her forever home, so her new people must be willing to put in the time and training to help her become a happy and well rounded dog.

19-05-21 UPDATE
Greya is a big softie from Romania, where she endured a very stressful past. She adores human company, loving to express and receive affection through touch. This can be overwhelming to less experienced dog owners, or people of frail stature, as Greya can enthusiastically jump up to greet you with some force! She can also pull strongly on the lead when she gets excited about going for a walk (which she loves) and exploring the world. She doesn't interact very well with other dogs, and will have to be an only dog herself. Her heavy approach to affection would also make children in the home unsuitable.
Greya really suffers when she doesn't have human company for long periods, so her new owner will have to have enough free time to ensure this won't happen. Despite her past, Greya is full of love and energy for the world and human company. For an experienced dog owner that is looking for a gentle giant to call their own, Greya is ideal.

11-06-21 UPDATE

Greya has such a huge personality, and has so much love to give. She is just so snuggly and loving.
Today I sat with her and she just pushed all her weight into me for a cosy cuddle. She loves her walks, absolutely loves chasing a ball and playing, and gets so excited for a cuddle.
As mentioned above, Greya would definitely need a home with people who can handle her strength and heavy snuggles! The love you receive off Greya tops anything, she is so affectionate, and hopefully won't be waiting for her forever home for much longer.

13-06-21 UPDATE

Greya is a super girl for the right home.  She's super bouncy and has a lot of power behind her so a no children home would be better for her.  Greya is super strong too so will need a active fit household for her happy ending. When shes not bouncy shes loves cuddles and snuggles but butt scratched are her favourite thing. She's been here too long someone needs to spring her out.

24-06-21 UPDATE

Hello there! My name is Greya, like the norse goddess but.. I'm grey.. so.. Greya :)
I am from Romania but my English is getting much better! I am told I'm a really sweet girl, probably because every opportunity I get I love to give everyone hugs. The humans that work here come over and see me all the time they say I cheer them up.
I love walking on the lead and I try to be gentle but I get excited sometimes or a dog scares me so I try to scare it back so I need a halti, I don't mind it though. When my hotel room is being cleaned I go to the sandschool, it's okay but mostly I wait patiently to see a friendly human face. This hotel is great but all my dog friends tell me about things humans live in called houses and It sounds amazing! I would really love to cuddle up to my future humans in one. My future humans would need to be patient with me though, I'm not reactive with all dogs but I'll definitely let you know if I don't like one! I'm sorry, please give me a chance!
Gareth says I'm his favourite here but don't tell, the humans aren't supposed to have favourites.

If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation* and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

* Many Tears uses Vanguard to vaccinate their dogs.  However, this can sometimes be difficult to source at local vets so if you are adopting a dog or puppy that has only had one vaccination please be aware your vets may require you to start the course from the beginning.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
