If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

02-05-2021 Shami has very sadly been returned after a short adoption as she did not settle in her new home.  She was fine with the lady in the home but very scared of the man so she is going to need an experienced home who has worked with fearful dogs before and is able to work with her to overcome her fear.  We are looking for an adult only home for Shami where there are no children or visiting children
Shami originally arrived here as one of a litter that was saved when they were found tied up in a dust bin bag in Romania. They were left to die when a kind passerby found them, freed them and informed a rescue of their plight.
Shami was loved and cared for in Romania by a lady until she could travel to the UK to find her forever home.  With an experienced owner, we would consider homing her as an only dog but she can also share her home with others. If she is an only dog she will need to have lots of socialisation with other dogs. Shami has a passport.

14-05-21 UPDATE

Shami has had so many new things to deal with in the last few weeks she, understandably, is wary. However, once you earn her trust she is such a loving girl. From the frightened girl, who a week ago was wary of me and the resident dogs - but surprisingly not of my husband! She has merged into the pack and loves a cuddle. She gets on well with all my dogs, both large and small, loves playing and will happily share her toys. She travels well, walks on a lead and is learning to deal with the outside world. She watches and absorbs. This beautiful girl just needs time and above all space to weigh up people and situations. She will not be homed with children or visiting children, but in the right circumstances could be an only dog or will happily share.

02-06-21 UPDATE
Shami has been returned to her foster home after a brief adoption. She is a lively, intelligent girl and has immediately slotted back into the routine. She is a bouncy girl who loves to play, but does have her quiet times, and so is looking for a home with tolerant resident dog(s). in the right circumstances she could go as an only dog but it would need to be an experienced home, as initially she can be unsure and needs someone who can read her and set boundaries.
Shami won't be homed with children or visiting children as she does mouth. This is something we are working on and which must be continued.

23-07-21 UPDATE
Shami is still looking for her forever home, yet she's such an affectionate girl with those she trusts. She's looking for an experienced, active home with someone willing to continue her training. She attends training class weekly and is doing really well. This stands her in good stead in situations she is unsure of. She has sampled the agility equipment and this could be an activity to develop with her. Shami mixes well with all the resident dogs, is clean in the house and travels well. She just needs a chance. Are you that special person who could give her it?

If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation* and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

* Many Tears uses Vanguard to vaccinate their dogs.  However, this can sometimes be difficult to source at local vets so if you are adopting a dog or puppy that has only had one vaccination please be aware your vets may require you to start the course from the beginning.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
