DOLLY WOULD REALLY LIKE A HOME WITH DENNIS

19-04-21 Dolly has come to us from Romania with her siblings. They were found in a field as puppies and a kind lady tried to help them but unfortunately as they grew and got much larger she was sadly unable to socialise them. Other rescues were unable to help and so they have now come to Many Tears to start the next chapter of their lives. Unfortunately they have arrived with us absolutely terrified of everyone and everything. At the moment we are unable to handle them, but our staff will be working closely with them over the coming days and weeks to get them used to the presence of us and to the human touch. They don't yet walk on a lead.
These dogs are looking for extra special homes, with people who are major dog lovers and can see past their traumas and are willing to put in the time and dedication that they need to progress. They will need owners who are very experienced with reactive dogs and will need adult only homes with no visiting children.
Dolly is very scared and shut down at the moment and will start to panic when approached, so we will take things very slowly and gently with her as she gets used to us. She is very close to her brother Dennis and they take comfort from each other so we would consider homing them together with experienced owners even if there was no other dog in the home.   Dolly has a passport.

24-06-21 UPDATE

Dolly is a sweet girl who has come such a long way since arriving here at MT.  She walks on a lead well for people she knows and does love a fuss once she trusts you.  She loves to play in the sandschool and does chase toys, but she doesn't know what to do once she catches up to them.
Dolly would like a quiet home where there are no children, but she would like a resident dog to help her learn all about home life.  I am totally in love with this girl, she deserves the absolute world.

27-07-21 UPDATE

Dolly and Dennis are the absolute perfect bonded pair, they share toys, share a bed, regurlarly just lie beside each other giving the other a good clean.  They walk perfectly together, they love to play together and although we feed them separately, it's only because Dolly takes longer to eat than Dennis. They were split for a while, but they didn't do well being apart and they have had meet and greets with other dogs but they have not been very good. They are happier together, in fact, I'd say that being together for the rest of their lives is what they would choose if we were able to ask them.
They truly are the most wonderful dogs, they walk past other dogs fine, they need a cat free home, with no children or resident dog/s. Their new people will just need to earn their trust before they get to see them at their most affectionate, loving, selves.
I have seen these beauties go from being scared, unhappy, just 'tolerating life' dogs, to becoming the happiest, goofiest, affectionate and wonderful souls they are when they are with one another. I get to see them play every day, as though this is what happiness is, as if this is the best that life can be, and that's in kennels! Imagine how happy they will be if they get to go to a home together and spend the rest of their days being loved and spoilt, like they should have always been!
I really hope they find their perfect home together soon, so they can truly thrive and live their absolute best lives. Whoever gets to take these two absolute gems home will be the luckiest people in the world.

17-08-21 UPDATE

This inseparable pair are brother and sister; Dolly and Dennis. They are from Romania and come from a larger family, but these two really love each other and get on well. They are around 1 and a half yrs old, they will need a lot of love and atrention, so they can continue to develop. They have come such a long way with their trust of us humans and they are much more accepting in kennels and out in our sand schools. They are going to be a super pair. We would really, really like to see these two homed together as they rely on each other. They really are a friendly pair, you just have to be realistic as to the long term work these dogs will need. They must be the only dogs in an adult only home as children would be too overwhelming for them. They will need a very secure garden and patient owners who are preferably experienced dog owners. Make their dreams come true, give them the start they never had at a wonderful new life.

16-10-21 UPDATE

Dennis and Dolly are still waiting for their perfect home to find them. We've been sending them out with volunteers daily so they get used to new people and in this video you see their first time meeting our newest member of staff, Derek. They really are the most beautiful pair who, once they know you, are so easy to walk that you can have them both in one hand and they just stroll along beside you. I know that the right home for them is out there, I'm just hoping that they don't have to wait much longer.

25-11-21 UPDATE - Dennis and Dolly had a grand adventure!!

Dennis and Dolly are two beautiful Romanian dogs looking for a home.  They  have been waiting a while, growing braver and becoming more and more loving with people they know. To me, they are perfection, if I didn't have numerous dogs already, they would have come home with me months ago!
The only real requirement they have (apart from the obvious ones, I.e. needing a cat, child and dog free home) is that they need people who understand that they may always be flight risks and will always need to be kept safe and secure, whether that's in their home or out about on walks.
Romanian rescues are very good at avoiding people if they go missing, because most have had to be that way over in Romania. Whoever is the lucky people/person who adopts these two will be one of the luckiest people in the world, once you earn their trust you could not ask for a more loving, wonderful pair of dogs who adore each other beyond words.
So, back to their grand adventure...
Tracey and I lifted them in to the car, I got in to the backseat to hold their leads whilst Tracey shut the boot.  Safety is number 1 priority for these two and you can't be too cautious. They did get stressed on the journey, which was only about 20 minutes long, but they weren't too bad and did eventually settle a little.
Once we got there we took them for a walk by the river, Dolly enjoyed the sniffs but Dennis was still a tad worried from the car journey so took a minute to relax a bit and enjoy it. We then headed towards town, they were worried about the cars whooshing by, but coped quite well.  They did not like the big lorries though and when one went past they'd go as close to each other as possible.
Our next stop was Greggs, Tracey very kindly treated them to a sausage roll to share as an extra special treat (obviously we don't feed the dogs this kind of food regularly but this was a very special day).  They weren't sure at first but soon ate some and then they couldn't get enough!!
We then headed in to the town centre, they were more relaxed around the people then they were with the traffic, but obviously it is quite a lot for any dogs to deal with if they aren't used to it. We then made our way back to the car, lifted them both in and I resumed my position of holding their leads in the back seat with them settling a little in the boot.
When we got back, they went in to the sandschool to decompress, before having a nice dinner, then going to bed early as it had obviously worn them out. I can honestly say I am immensely proud of them, the progress they have made since arriving at Many Tears is astonishing. They regularly get walked by volunteers and every single one comment's on how lovely they are and how much they adore each other.
City life or centre of town living would be too much for them and wouldn't be fair on them, but outskirts of a town or rural would be fine. They really aren't asking for much, just someone to love them and keep them safe. I am happy to talk to anyone who feels they are a suitable home for them. These two are my babies, I love them with my whole heart and would do absolutely anything for them. They deserve the absolute world.
The video is from a different day but I want people to see the side of Dolly that I see, the heart melting bundle of perfection that I cherish every moment with. I am going to be insanely jealous of the person that gets to have that for the rest of their lives.
