If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

01-05-21 Stanley is a very handsome little terrier boy who has come to us to find a home.  He is very timid and shy at first but becomes more more relaxed once he feels bit more confident around you. We are looking for an experienced home who have had scared dogs before. He could be an only dog or live with a larger female. He is worried around children so we are looing for a child free home and he cannot live with cats or chickens.  Stanley needs to learn about house training and lead walking.  With a little time and patience he is going to be a really lovely little dog.

16-05-21 UPDATE

I’ve been working with this wonderful boy since the day he came in and what a marvellous little chap he has become!!! He was very timid and nervous when he came in, but I just had a feeling he would overcome it really quickly with me. From that very first day, I told him that we would be best friends soon and that everything would be okay .. and now I have my very own little shadow who is so happy whenever I’m around! Stanley loves to play bow at me and do the zoomies all around the sandschool, he loves to jump on me and give me lots of little kisses, and he’s slowly learning to enjoy a fuss .. especially under his chin which is his favourite.
However, when Stanley is taken out of his comfort zone and is around people he doesn’t know, he is a completely different dog. It’s almost as if he shuts down .. it’s horrible. He gets very nervous again like he was when he first came in, and for this reason he’ll need a home with scared dog experience. He’s never lived in a home before so he will without a doubt be out of his comfort zone for the first few days or weeks. His new parents will need to be very understanding of this and respect that he may need time and space to settle himself in. They’ll need to be patient, support him when he needs it, and just not give up on him. When Stanley knows you and trusts you, he is just the best little dog who will put a smile on your face even on the hardest of days ... I can promise you that.
Stanley preferably needs to be homed with a resident dog - a female who is larger than him, and if they were playful too that would be perfect. He cannot be homed with children as he’s too scared, and he cannot be homed with cats, chickens or any small furries.
Is there anyone out there who could give this boy the loving home he deserves?

07-06-21 UPDATE

I haven't seen too much of Stanley since he's come to the rescue as he's been the focus of other staff, and in meeting him today it was very apparent that he will need someone with the patience to help him out of his shell.
Passing by his kennel I've seen him running happily, and approaching people with affection and love in his eyes. I am a complete stranger to him however and he was very nervous and unwilling to approach. That said he didn't panic and allowed me to pick him up without much trouble, and I could see him becoming an incredibly affectionate dog with someone who had the chance to spend more time and get to know him.
He's been kennelled with many different dogs since coming in and would benefit from being homed alongside a more confident resident dog for him to emulate and learn from. If you have experience with more nervous dogs and want a charming companion brimming with character, please take the time to consider Stanley.

19-06-21 UPDATE

Handsome Stanley was returned to us after a brief adoption as he didn't get along with the resident dog in the home. He is looking for his new home as an only dog or with a larger female dog. He has learnt to walk on a lead but is a bit of a learner still. He is a sweet heart

14-07-21 UPDATE

Stanley is doing so well! Although I only met him today, it took him no time to come out of his shell and his tail never stopped wagging the whole time. He may be a little dog but he’s got a huge personality and would definitely make the perfect companion. He is by no means the kind of dog who wants attention from everyone but if you give him the time and effort, you will definitely be rewarded plenty of cuddles.

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation* and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

* Many Tears uses Vanguard to vaccinate their dogs.  However, this can sometimes be difficult to source at local vets so if you are adopting a dog or puppy that has only had one vaccination please be aware your vets may require you to start the course from the beginning.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
