If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

13-08-21 Ela is one of five pups thrown over the fence into their rescuers garden in Turkey. All five pups were cared for by their rescuer in a very rural environment with a few senior dogs of the rescuer. She grew up surrounded by many cats and is cat friendly.
Ela and her sisters arrived in the UK in late July 2021 and are now staying with their rescuer while looking for their forever homes.
Ela is the smallest of the five Kangal Cross puppies. She is approximately 8 months old and weighs 32kg already, she has a shoulder height of 65cm. She loves interacting with people and will come often to get affection.
She is cat friendly as she grew up surrounded by cats. She gets on well with other dogs and would like to have another resident dog as company so we will be looking for homes with a kind resident dog. She is almost house trained (had a few accidents after her long road journey). Ela is a bouncy energetic dog and has a tendency to pull during her walks. She will need more training. She is also more timid in traffic. While she enjoys walks in green spaces, she is more timid in more urban environments such as walking on streets. She does stop occasionally just observing cars/buses until she feels more confident to continue her walk. She also wants to greet everyone she meets at the moment.
Due to her size, she is probably best homed where there aren't small children or frail elderly who might get knocked over.
Ela would benefit from attending puppy training classes and as she is a giant breed her adopter will need to agree to have her spayed when she turns one year old.

06-09-21 UPDATE

Ela is such a lovely dog. She is calm and controlled for her age and very eager to please. Ela is good with dogs of all shapes and sizes, she is good with cats and horses and children. Ela will be a really big dog so please be aware of that if you apply for her.
Ela needs a home with lots of space, walks and an owner at home. Ela walks beautifully on the lead and is clean in the house and doesnt chew. She sleeps with the other dogs and is no problem at all. She will alert you to anyone at the door.

16-09-21 UPDATE

Ela has adapted very well to the urban environment. She is no longer nervous in the urban environment (cars/busses/traffic). She is walked easily on a lead but likes stopping and just observing the environment. She enjoys the attention and fuss of the people she meets. She plays well with every dog she meets. Her adopters will need to be prepared to walk her 2-3 hours daily to keep her mentally and physically stimulated. Ela also needs to have a place to retreat herself as she likes to pick a quiet corner in the house to rest.

If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation* and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.
* Many Tears uses Vanguard to vaccinate their dogs.  However, this can sometimes be difficult to source at local vets so if you are adopting a dog or puppy that has only had one vaccination please be aware your vets may require you to start the course from the beginning.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
