If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

09-10-21 Waffle has come to us from  a breeder in search of an extra special home.  Poor Waffle is blind or has very little vision but this doesn't stop her from coming up for a cuddle.  She is slightly nervous of strangers at first but quickly forms a bond so whoever adopts this little girl is going to have a devoted friend.  Waffle would be best in a home with another dog to follow and be her friend and this will help her with things like house training and lead walking.  We are looking for an adult only home for Waffle where someone is at home for most of the day and with a garden that is easy for her to navigate.

13-10-21 UPDATE
Waffle has seen the vet and has adhesions between her iris and her lens in her right eye.  This may need further investgation and could cause issue in the future but at the moment she manages fine.  It's possible she can only see light and dark so we are looking for adopters who are in the financial position to cover any veterinery costs she may need for her eyes in the future as this will not be able to be covered by insurance. Our vet also discovered that she has a Grade 1 luxating patella, this may improve as she builds strength and muscle but is something her adopter will need to be aware of.

15-10-21 UPDATE

Waffle has come into foster with several other dogs and has been an absolute delight. She has already successfully navigated and learnt the lay out of our downstairs and garden and happily takes herself out to the garden to go to the toilet! Waffle occasionally walks into things but on the whole is very good at identifying door ways and getting herself about. The vet believes that she may well be able to see shadows and differentiate between darkness and light but in the future may require eye surgery if her condition worsens so her adopters would need to take this into account. Waffle has really surprised us in how happy, confident and loving she is despite her vision and we so want her to find an understanding new family to support her. She would need to live with another small friendly dog to guide her and a garden that is easily accessible for her, Waffle doesn’t walk on a lead currently but we will start harness training. Could you offer Waffle the special home she needs and show her the good life she deserves?!

PLEASE NOTE: We nearly always home dogs who have come from breeders where there is ALREADY A RESIDENT DOG living in the house. They have usually never lived in a house before and are only used to canine company. They usually get their confidence and learn faster with another dog to copy from. This also helps with house training and learning how to walk on a lead. They will make lovely pets but do need a lot of love, time and patience. If the ex breeding dog you are interested in can be an only dog it will say so in its write up. Please read our information on ADOPTING EX-BREEDING DOGS before you apply.

If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation* and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.
* Many Tears uses Vanguard to vaccinate their dogs.  However, this can sometimes be difficult to source at local vets so if you are adopting a dog or puppy that has only had one vaccination please be aware your vets may require you to start the course from the beginning.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
