If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

26-12-2021 Johnny has sadly been returned after a short adoption due to behavioural issues which we will discuss further with any potential adopter. He is a handsome boy with a very strong personality and is a complicated character who is looking for absolutely the right, extremely experienced adult only home without children or any visiting children.
Johnny can be tricky but is clearly very smart and can sit, stay, give paw and he learns things very quickly but he also knows how to give negative behaviour, especially if things are not going the way he wants and he can be reactive if he wants to be. He will need a home where gets a lot of exercise and mind games.
Johnny absolutely loves to play ball but is possessive of his space, however, if you remember his failings and use "canine trixology" he is a great dog who, although admittedly has problems, can be very attentive and keen to learn.
Johnny is a confident boy who needs a clear set of boundaries. He already walks on a lead but does need a little correction to stop him pulling. He is confident enough to be an only dog but if homed with another dog he would prefer that to be a female.
We are very sad to see him back here and he is even more sad to be here as he hates being in a kennel.

21-01-22 UPDATE

Johnny has now been in his foster home for nearly a week, and I honestly can't say how great this dog is. Since having Johnny he has never displayed any bad behaviour but this doesn't mean he won't.
Johnny has been great in all ways here, he's happy to play ball and give it back to me to be thrown again, but I will never take anything from him if it's in his mouth, as he has been known to let go of his toy and snap. Johnny is GREAT with other dogs, here he lives with a male shih tzu and a standard poodle female. When going out for walks he passes dogs great and is happy to greet them nicely on his lead, he shows no sign of being reactive. However he does have a VERY high prey drive so a home with no cats is a must! His recall is also terrible, especially when he sees something he will want to chase and will refuse to come back, even if it is a bird! So his new owners will need to work through this.
He will need a home with NO children or visiting children because of his background and it's just not worth risking. When feeding Johnny I do feed him separate just because he eats so fast and will happily eat everyone else's food too! He will happily eat his own bone in the same room as my dogs, and so far has shown no signs of food aggression. Johnny loves nothing more than to eat everything!! When I say eat everything I mean EVERYTHING! 2 nights ago I had to rush him to a vets as he had swallowed 2 socks!, so a home that is very mindful about this is a MUST.
Overall Jonny is a fabulous dog! He loves nothing more than to have long walks on his long line and to go out exploring so a very active home is needed for him.
Johnny sleeps on the bottom of my bed every night, but is also happy to sleep in his own bed, but if he was to get in his own bed, he and we go anywhere near he does growl, but we have never witnessed this as of yet but I will go into more detail for anyone who applies. Johnny really deserves his own forever home, and we're going to do our best to find this for him.

If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
