If you are interested in adopting a dog that does not say it can be homed with a cat and wish us to cat test please let us know and we will be happy to do this.

29-10-21 Dorothy has come to us all the way from Romania to find her forever home. She has had a very hard start to life but now we are hopeful that her future is bright and will be filled with nothing but kindness and love. She has been described as a sensitive soul who is calm and gentle.  She will need a quiet and calm adult only home where someone is home most of the time.  She would suit someone who like a gentle strol rather than a long walk.  Dorothy could be an only dog or homed with an older, calm and gently dog.  She  Dorothy has a passport and clean brucellosis test.

20-11-21 UPDATE
Dorothy or Dorothia as she prefers to be called is a sweet and loving dog from Romania and she is now looking for a slower pace of life. She is clearly emotionally scarred from her time as a street dog and is initially very wary of new humans. However, once she gets knows you she will cuddle with you and follow you around.
She is amazing at walking with a harness and enjoys short walks. Her favourite place is in her bed in front of the fireplace. She is looking for someone who is at home most of the time as she just wants to relax and feel at home. She will toilet herself outside as long as she is given regular access to the garden. She needs an older person who just wants a dog as a loving companion. She would not be suitable to travel around too much as she is nervous of travelling and is a potential flight risk, but she has made no attempts at escaping or climbing since being placed in a Foster home.
She prefers human company over canine company and would  be suitable for someone with a very calm resident dog but would be an amazing only dog with someone experienced with scared dogs. She would not be suitable for any resident puppies, young dogs or a busy, noisy household. She has no issues with cats and will happily live alongside any resident cats at home. She is nervous of eating around other animals and this can cause mild food aggression but it is more about her nervousness than any actual aggression. She is also nervous of eating around humans but shows zero aggression towards humans approaching her bowl, moving it etc. She will eat incredibly well if left alone to enjoy her meal.
She prefers female human company as opposed to male company but she has come on leaps and bounds with her fear of men but she will need a lot of reassurance from any males in her new home. She prefers raw meat over dog food. So her new owners must be willing to accommodate this. She needs an experienced owner who is able to give her the love and time and encouragement she needs to flourish in her new home and a place she can spend the rest of her life in quiet and content retirement from being a street dog.

If your application is successful you will be home checked and you, all members of your family and any dog(s) who will be living with the dog MUST come to meet the dog you want to adopt. All our dogs are micro-chipped, have had at least their first inoculation and are spayed/neutered unless there is a medical reason for not doing so. You must have a safe means of transporting the dog home in a crate or if this is not possible please discuss with Many Tears or the Fosterer when your application is being processed.

Please read our adoption procedures before applying and then complete the adoption form.
